Moms & daughters typically have a very close bond. To hang out together; sleeping together is not out of the norm. My mom and I would have pizza on her bed and watch a good movie on a Friday night when I was well beyond my teens... Continuous prayers for this family that their daughter is brought home safely.
I don't find this strange either.

A Texas teen who has been missing since early Wednesday was last seen leaving her home that morning, officials in Bexar County said.An unidentified person believed to be Camila Mendoza Olmos, 19, was seen around 7:00 a.m. searching her vehicle for an unidentified item, video footage from Wednesday shows, according to a statement from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
Their grief is absolutely heartbreaking!

I teach high school, and one thing I have learned from the youngsters is that most have two very separate personas. For example, most of them have two social media accounts - one where they post their "nice" stuff and one where they post their "real" stuff - it used to be called a "finsta" or "fake Instagram" account, and they would make it private and only invite their closest friends. Along with these accounts, they develop a persona that is "the real them." So you cannot look at this particular case without asking yourself why a 19-year-old girl was going outside in the morning while her mother was still asleep, not taking her phone. Was she going out to find a vape in her car? Was she going out to meet someone who would deliver something to her? Was she trying to find her Air Pods? She purposefully left her phone behind, so it was something quick and private. She had on pajama shorts and more than likely a pajama top under the sweatshirt - the temp at 7 a.m. that morning was upper 60's and she had on shoes - but what kind? Slides? Sneakers? House shoes? Every piece of the overall story is a story within itself. Logically, here is where I would go with it if I were LE:
  • Talk to friends and find out if she had a spam or finsta account
  • Pull her bank records and look for regular withdrawals of cash
  • Pull her class list from where she went to school and see if any of her classmates lived nearby
  • Find out if she had dropped or switched out of classes later into the semester
  • Do a neighborhood sweep and check for other ring cameras in the area
  • If they can find a hair of hers with a follicle, they can run tox on the follicle to find out if she was using anything recreationally or had tried something recreationally recently.
Please know that none of these things are suggested with malice or accusation toward Camilla. Young ladies get in over their heads very quickly and often find themselves living in duplicity without realizing how dangerous it can be. Prayers to the family and prayers of protection and strength for Camilla.

I don't find it strange at all either. It was Christmas and there may have been extra family members who gathered for the celebrations.

That’s her standing at the white car in the back correct? Am I crazy or are the headlights and taillights on, but the interior lights are not? Was the car running?

Police have a protocol when people go missing. They don't have to think about what they need to be doing since they already have a systematic approach in place and are doing these things right from the beginning. Thankfully, they don't reinvent the process every time a person is reported missing.

And from this interview she does have a boyfriend. I wonder how that relationship was.

From pictures shared she had already graduated high school, is that correct?

Right, I know that... I was just throwing that out for discussion sake.

he was mentioned here too - sounds like he’s reacting like a good boyfriend, from what we know so far
“Every morning, we have been meeting at the Wild Horse HOA Sports Park,” boyfriend Nate Gonzales said. “From there, we get our groups around 20 with one leader who has experience with search and rescue.”

First things, first. Prayers for her safe return.
As others have mentioned, a few things IMMEDIATELY jumped out to me when I heard about this case. Mom saying she's had to go out and retrieve her in the past. Something about that statement bothers me a bit. What adult has to go out and bring home someone simply going for a walk. Then the mom saying they were in the same bed. I have a coworker who would do that occasionally with her daughter of similar age to watch movies together, but when I hear it here, methinks its to keep an eye on her.

I think there are things being left out here, just so the public doesn't dismiss this case as a wandering teen who may be going through something, or possibly choose to self-disappear. Teen girls of that age, NEVER leave the house without their phone. I know we can't rule out an abduction, but this is 7am, not 3am. These houses were pretty close together, thus someone would have hear a commotion if she was grabbed. Typically, the bad guys aren't out at 7am, unless she has a routine and someone was stalking her.
You may be right regarding the Mom’s statement, but here’s my take. She doesn’t speak English, only Spanish (see video link I posted). I think someone took her words out of context and it’s close to what she said but not exact.

No one in subsequent interviews, Mom, Aunt, boyfriend, lifelong girlfriends - have mentioned an issue with what you’re pointing out. Nothing on social media either.

I’m more concerned with her leaving with someone and/or an abduction. All just my opinion.

These are all reasonable questions. I’d say, experimenting is normal for older teens, so all these questions need to be asked.

I often leave things that are “not needed for that evening” in the car. It could be candies or tea. It is more about not carrying too many things in the hands. So if she was working or at school the day before, it could be nothing more but a Christmas present that she forgot or left in the car the previous night.

I wonder why the mom was sleeping with her? Do they live together and routinely do that or was she only staying with her mom for Christmas and maybe that was the only arrangement available? If that’s the case and she went to bed/fell asleep without being fully prepared bc it’s not where she normally sleeps..and didn’t have her own charger or put her phone on the charger, it’s possible she woke up to use the bathroom, realized her phone died and quickly went to the car to get her own charger. Mom wakes up noticing she’s not there, thinking she may be on a walk or something and calls the phone but gets vmail bc it’s dead. She could’ve just looked around the bed area and saw it laying there and then puts it on her own charger that maybe Camila didn’t know/realize was there. Meanwhile anything could’ve happened while she was at the car. Someone mentioned a possible stalker, for them to know her schedule, I would think she must stay/live there with her mom for that to be the case. If it was just a chance enounter, maybe someone saw her out there, got her attention, and called her over to their vehicle to kidnap her? Either way, she certainly didn’t choose to go missing that morning & I highly doubt she would have chosen to take a walk knowing her phone was dead. Did she have on shoes or slippers? If she still had on her pajamas I’m thinking no shoes…

I just came across this story and haven’t read articles but now I guess I better do that so I can see if there’s any answers to my questions. I really hope she’s found alive but this just doesn’t feel good.

About sleeping together - what came to my mind was, the rest of the family was in another state. I understood it in the form of “visiting relatives”, although perhaps the dad didn’t live in the house (unclear to me).

But if usually there are more people staying in the house, moving together when left alone is “an instinct” for two women. Perhaps they are less scared this way. So it looks absolutely normal to me.

And all the close together houses do look similar.... so if a 3 bedroom home, why was she sharing the bed with her mom?? AND was there anyone else in the house anyway????

About the houses. On old Google map photos, one house has a garage. I wonder if Camila’s house has one as well? With the family members being away, why did she park in the front?

Has LE gone door-to-door asking residents of the neighborhood for their Ring camera/security footage?

Was her phone's charger easily found in the home?

Has she ever had any medical episodes? Or ever gone missing, even briefly, before? Any new medications or diagnoses or medications that can cause memory loss?

I think abduction by a stranger is unlikely. But likewise I doubt she is willingly missing on Christmas Eve.

Curious if she ever visited anyone on her walks. If so, hopefully history of that will appear on her phone.

If there are any locals here, please surround her family with caring support and non-judgment. My heart goes out to them.

My goodness, what a pretty girl. I hope she is found alive!

This is the exact same neighborhood where Mariadelis Labrador Siles disappeared. However, her death was eventually ruled a suicide. The area is not known for human trafficking. I live in the area and walk in the area all the time at all hours. It's no different than anywhere else in the US.
It's just the Daily Mail spin.

Yeah, if you go to a truck stop, there is prostitution. Also, there have been some events (conventions etc where there has been some trafficking) There are warnings about it at the airport restrooms. There has also been some exploitation of immigrant communities. (Massage parlors etc) However, I don't know what the Daily Mail is getting at. It's no different than anywhere else in the US.

I haven’t read all the articles nor all of the discussion here, but I recall reading that it is thought she walked away, I guess in part because her car was still there.

I wonder if search dogs were able to track any of her movements away from the house. If they were not able to, could it be she was picked up via another’s vehicle? But if it was in front of where her car was, you'd think the Ring cam would have picked up that movement as well.

Just thinking aloud.

It's Christmas. We had a house full this year. Maybe they had the same. Sleeping arrangements around the holidays are always tricky if you have out of town visitors who are staying over. MOO
