Found Deceased AR - Belva Day, 95, last seen paying her electric bill, Mountain Home, 7 Feb 2025

On Feb. 24, Chaos Divers, a search and recovery team out of southern Illinois, searched the White River from boat ramps in Batesville, Oil Trough and Newport.

Day and her beige Buick LeSabre with license plate USADOGN may not be in the water, but with police verifying her vehicle sighted in Gepp, and other unverified sightings ending in Batesville, Chaos Divers owner Jacob Grubbs got the family’s blessing to take the search a bit deeper.

Chaos Divers will pause their search Tuesday until April when they plan to assist other families in Arkansas and Oklahoma. They will be able to bring equipment for searching smaller bodies of water then.

Day’s family believes she may have traveled as far as Southside.

UPDATE, Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025: Mountain Home Police Investigator Sam Seamans told radio station KTLO on Tuesday morning there have been no new leads in the search for 95-year-old Belva Day since her Buick LeSabre was reported missing over two weeks ago.

Belva’s NamUs was modified today. It wasn’t due to the photos, they were added 2/18 and 2/19.

I agree with Megnut. Either water or even a possible drop off on the side of the road along her route or veered off the road into thick brush or trees. Although still holding out hope she has ended up somewhere and may be confused.

Rest well, Belva. I had suspicions that's how she'd be found. I hope for her sake it was quick. How did she get on base though, I wonder?

Wow, that's roughly 3 hours from home

Based on the camera sightings, it was just over a 2 hour journey. Here's a map for those who'd like to see it.

It must have been more than three hours. Above is the map we created based on the camera sightings, the direct @3 hours drive from Mountain Home to the AFB would have her travelling directly South first then veering Southeast. But, she departed Mountain Home in an East/Northeast direction.

Here's the direct Mountain Home to the AFB for comparison. First, the direct route, then the area around Mountain Home for comparison to the above of the camera sightings.

Just remapped from Mountain Home to the AFB based on the previously listed camera sightings. Of course, we don't know where she went after Batesville, before arriving at the AFB. But, she was driving at least 3 hours and 24 minutes. Poor lady must have been lost and confused.

The AFB is a further hour and 14 minutes on Google maps beyond the last cctv sighting. As you can see though, the highway cuts right across the base, so I can understand how she would have been found on the AFB itself. Bless her, it’s the outcome we expected and I’m glad she’s been found, but still very sad.

I wonder if she was let in because she had military/veteran ID and the person who let her in just didn't make the connection that it was her(or just doesn't pay attention to the news to know that she was missing)? Or if she was found more along the border fence somewhere? Cause driving around it on google maps, I don't see how she could have really been inside the base on accident. There are a couple of creeks along the road that goes around the base, though I wouldn't call them ravines. Depending on what the foliage looks like at the moment, she probably could have crashed into one of those and not been spotted.
