Canada - 10 dead and at least 15 wounded in stabbing attacks in Saskatchewan, 2022

MOO

I don’t think he overdosed. It would take longer than a few minutes to confirm the cause of death.

I also don’t think he grabbed a gun from LE. Just my gut feeling, but MS seems to have preferred knives to guns. He would have had relatively easy access to long arms being in Northern Sask. He wasn’t struggling while being arrested, he didn’t give the RCMP any cause to shoot him. There is a photo in the cjme article of the arrest and he is already handcuffed (I think). I can’t fathom how he would be able to grab a gun. But I’ve been wrong before.

My money is on knife wounds that were inflicted before the arrest.

Potentially the RCMP will give more info at the press conference.

One thing to note in this article is that the vehicle LE was pursuing in around Wakaw was stolen. Now how it was taken is what I want to know. Was anyone else hurt in this. LE said the individual had a visible knife with them.
Moo: Lots of people in towns around this area leave their keys in the car. Not much property theft aside from when people from out of town bring a truck in and take advantage. (Which has been happening more frequently the last few years but some people don't learn quickly.)

That report includes some unexpected details about his behaviour while being arrested.

Smiling and chuckling as he was being taken into custody is hard to align with someone who took his own life minutes later (assuming he hadn’t already injured himself)

Why no “suicide by cop”? For the sake of the officers I’m glad he didn’t. But the whole situation seems odds to me.

Of course, I’m trying to apply logic to a situation that defies logic

MOO.

Edit to add: RCMP press conference at 7:30 Sask time. 9:30 EST.

I have to say that the most detailed coverage of this whole tragedy has consistently been Global News.

Any other reports of the death and citing their source as Global. I REALLY hope they verified the info.
The laughing and giggling could be from drugs he may have taken possibly to numb his pain from his injuries.

I think he probably stabbed himself while being chased or after being pulled over before they got to him and then died later on. Just a guess.

Seems entirely possible. As soon as he noticed the RCMP vehicles he would know it was game over. There would‘ve been a brief time span between his vehicle being stopped and the RCMP approaching him to make an arrest.

I guess we best wait for the news conference -

ETA
“Law enforcement sources told paNOW the stabbing suspect may have overdosed after his arrest on Hwy 11 Wednesday afternoon near Rosthern.

A media conference is to be held Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at RCMP headquarters in Regina.”

Death being reported by CTV now. I was beginning to question the credibility of the Global info…..big delay from their reporting to the other MSM. I still haven’t found anything updated on CBC.

Edit to add: they made a liar out of me

''Subject of Sask. manhunt dead from self-inflicted injuries

The prime suspect in a mass stabbing incident in Saskatchewan has died from self-inflicted injuries, according to an Associated Press source.

Myles Sanderson was taken into custody by RCMP Wednesday afternoon. He was subsequently transported by ambulance, according to an officer on scene.''

“As I was passing by, they hauled the fellow out of the car, had him in handcuffs and he appeared to be chuckling, which is beyond my comprehension.”

Willie said some police officers had their guns drawn while others were dealing with Sanderson. Willie said none of the officers appeared to be hurt, but he thought they were hearing about the incident from the suspect.

“I saw him laughing, like he was probably giving the police a hard time for catching him or whatever,” Willie said. “He was probably having his two cents worth of laughing and joking and maybe thinking — I don’t know what he’s thinking when you’re laughing being arrested after hurting so many people and killing people.”
