Canada - 10 dead and at least 15 wounded in stabbing attacks in Saskatchewan, 2022

No I'm not. And it's fair enough to point that out. Do you thing they'd run to the US?
Would the recent event with Dawn Walker possibly influence their tactics?
I'd love to hear your thoughts.
MOO the direction of travel to be seen in Regina around 11:30 is on a trajectory for the US.
Google Maps traffic shows the border crossing above Plentywood MT US, taking hours at this time due to “an incident” in SK.

Are you familiar with the area? I have family that ranches in southern Saskatchewan and southern Alberta and it’s not difficult at all to cross into the US without meeting border agents.
I'm familiar with the area and I doubt very much that these 2 men who are not carrying guns would even think of crossing any illegal border into the States.

The likeliest way they could steal a gun in this area would be to break into a hunt cabin (there are thousands in Saskatchewan and Alberta).

The problem they'd encounter is that these cabins wouldn't be empty this time of year and they would likely be looking at the end of a rifle instead of stealing one.

Forensic behaviour does show us that they will likely keep to "familiar turf".

Thanks for sharing this. I had definitely assumed they were brothers based on early media reports.
Ironically I looked at their photos and thought they didn't look anything alike. But then I don't look much like my younger sister or brother either. So, it's irrelevant.
They could also be step- or adoptive brothers, or even possibly first cousins.

These guys used knives to kill innocent people so I'm confused why you mentioned guns in your post. JMO.

Absolutely! Their photos are all over the news stations and especiall Law Enforcement agencies all through the U.S. in addition to Canada.

Even if they manage to steal another car, one of them still has to get out of the car to pump gas.

By the bolded comment I’d assume these two were known by the residents of the reserve, or at least their reputations. As someone else mentioned earlier, I also wonder if they’d been banned.

“A mother of two is among 10 victims killed as part of a deadly stabbing spree in Saskatchewan.

Lana Head is the former partner of Michael Brett Burns, and the mother of their two daughters.

Burns told APTN News that Head and her male partner died of their wounds on the James Smith Cree Nation on Sunday.

It’s sick how jail time, drugs and alcohol can destroy many lives,” Burns said. “I’m hurt for all this loss.”……

…….Chakastaypasin Chief Calvin Sanderson said he’d left his phone off on Sunday morning and only learned of the tragic events when community members came to his door to check on him.

Everyone’s been affected, he said.

“They were our relatives, friends. Mostly we’re all related here, so it’s pretty hard,” Sanderson said.

“It’s pretty horrific.”….”

Well looky here, from May 27, 2022. The mug shot is the same one currently being used:

Myles-Brandon Sanderson - Unlawfully at large - 32 years old, five foot 10, 239 pounds. Last known location was in Saskatoon.
This is interesting. I am unfamiliar with the charge of 'unlawfully at large'. Is this consistent with the U.S. charge of 'violation of probation' ? Can someone explain this charge? Am I correct that this occurred at the end of May?
TIA

“Unlawfully at large“ generally refers to someone who hasn’t surrendered themselves into custody (prison) as required. Some typical examples, it could refer to not showing up for a sentence to be served only on weekends, or someone who walked away while on a work program or day pass, or not being present for a trial so not following through with subsequent sentencing.

Yes according to Crime Stoppers the additional charges occurred the end of May.

Very sad Canadian here :(

Why, oh why are RCMP not updating the photo for Damien Sanderson? Although they've provided his description (5 foot 7 and 155 lbs with black hair, brown eyes.), there's a big difference in how he looks according to the image at heavy.com. Scroll down to #1. He is presumably older and much heavier than the publicized image. (So tempted, but can't screenshot due to TOS because it is from a personal FB account but you folks know how to follow that through).

I would NOT recognize him as the same person they are distributing pics of.

Wow. Yes, that’s a very different look for sure… :/

It sounds like the police think that they could still be in Regina.

“We still believe these suspects are likely in the city of Regina and as such we have a lot of resources that are dedicated to this,” he said in the message posted at 8:08 p.m. local time, more than 12 hours after the first attack was reported to have happened in predawn hours.

This is shocking! I hope they are both caught very soon.
There are reports that one of them may be injured ….

According to the Associated Press, Doreen Lees, 89, said she and her daughter thought they saw one of the suspects in Weldon early Sunday morning.

Lees said a man approached them and said he was hurt and needed help but fled after her daughter said she would call for help.

“He wouldn’t show his face. He had a big jacket over his face. We asked his name and he kind of mumbled his name twice and we still couldn’t get it,” Lees said, according to the Associated Press. “He said his face was injured so bad he couldn’t show it.”

Another article stated the woman also said that this person was very “wobbly” on his feet.

Good, and I guess that's to be expected. A knife attack is up close and personal, and there's a decent chance someone was able to inflict some damage while defending themselves.

Hopefully that, coupled with them probably being boxed in, limits their ability to inflict further damage.

I saw that in an article but it didn't clue in with me at the time. This could be significant because if he is injured and walking with difficulty they may have to stay put until he is better so they could be laying low. The fact that he ran away instead of harming them may indicate there is truth to her observation that he in fact is injured. I'm sure some people these maniacs were harming put up fights and had waepons of their own to defend themselves or were given something by others in the homes defend themselves. BRUTAL.
