so we now have Myles criminal history - I can't help but wonder about Damien - he could be completely innocent in all of this.
I wonder if he was another unwilling accomplice? Jmo

That would be so sad on top of everything else.

Perhaps LE are keeping it quiet out of respect for the deceased? Just my thoughts.

Thank you. IMO they’ve done a great job.
Yes, as a Canadian in western Canada, I was very impressed at how fast RCMP reacted and public safety alerts were sent out. I have gotten 3 or 4 alerts since the horrific incident started. The last alert was last night, which indicated the previous alerts remain in effect and that Myles MAY be injured and seeking medical attention. Also, the alert indicated that Myles MAY be driving the black Nissan but it isn’t known whether he is alone. Also, Myles’s physical description was given again.

The RCMP are notoriously tight lipped during an investigation. They don't speculate and don't offer much information until they have sufficient evidence to make conclusive statements.

They will advise the public of any potential sightings and they may release a list of victimes but as long as an investigation is ongoing, they will share little more than that.

It is my understanding that members of the community have been asked by Chief and Council to stop speaking with the press with the strong hope that the press will step back and let the community deal with their grief but it seems that the press remains on site and digging hard for information on the deceased.

I was just going to say that it’s not impossible to entertain the theory that Damien may have been trying to stop Myles and in the fray became a victim himself.

IMO survivors have indicated both were involved as the RCMP had laid charges against both Damien and Myles. And, I am sure there is substantiation for doing so.

Thank you for putting me straight. I’ve been back and forth between this thread and the Eliza Fletcher thread. Apparently, not paying close enough attention here.

This site is updating in real time.

I can't quite wrap my head around the time-line (RCMP seem very confident of the Regina sighting - but I can't see how DS was ever in Regina - the reservation and Regina are about 3 hours apart and that highway would have been covered with RCMP)

And now MS sightings back on the reservation? Again, how did he not pass a check-stop on the way back?

And welcome back to school kids......you'll be in a hold and secure pattern until further notice. I hope this comes to a conclusion quickly.

Lots of people are questioning the motive - I have read (from several sources today) that it is believed that drugs and alcohol played a huge role. Even on his release records there are notes about him "becoming a different person" when he consumes drugs or alcohol.

"This is the destruction we face when harmful illegal drugs invade our communities, and we demand all authorities to take direction from the Chiefs and Councils and their membership to create safer and healthier communities for our people," said FSIN Chief Bobby Cameron in a statement late Sunday.

Apparently, RCMP have a house surrounded on the rez at present. Not sure exactly what that means.

The RCMP said it's responding to the scene and encouraged residents not to approach the suspect. Police asked residents to call 911 to report any sightings or information.

An Associated Press reporter heard people screaming and running on Tuesday afternoon and saw police surround a home on the James Smith Cree First Nation.

"It is the Board's opinion that you will not present an undue risk to society if released on statutory release and that your release will contribute to the protection of society by facilitating your reintegration into society as a law-abiding citizen."

That didn't age well......

Could it be someone who helped the brothers?
