"It is the Board's opinion that you will not present an undue risk to society if released on statutory release and that your release will contribute to the protection of society by facilitating your reintegration into society as a law-abiding citizen."

That didn't age well......

From:

It made no sense when I read it and even a blind man could see that would fail. Maybe not this kind of failure but he was definately going to reoffend.

This site is updating in real time.

I can't quite wrap my head around the time-line (RCMP seem very confident of the Regina sighting - but I can't see how DS was ever in Regina - the reservation and Regina are about 3 hours apart and that highway would have been covered with RCMP)

And now MS sightings back on the reservation? Again, how did he not pass a check-stop on the way back?

And welcome back to school kids......you'll be in a hold and secure pattern until further notice. I hope this comes to a conclusion quickly.
Would the RCMP make the Regina information public in hopes that MS would “out” himself on the reserve, knowing he is not actually in Regina?

I don't think so because it would put people in extreme danger.

Regina Police Chief Evan Bray said Myles Sanderson's last known sighting had been in Regina, the provincial capital, more than 200 miles away from the scene of the stabbings. Earlier Monday, police said a vehicle reportedly carrying the two suspects had been spotted in the Regina area. Police said they may be driving a black Nissan Rogue.
The second of two suspects in a deadly stabbing spree in Canada over the weekend was allegedly seen on the Indigenous reserve
An Associated Press reporter heard people screaming and running on Tuesday afternoon and saw police surround a home on the James Smith Cree First Nation.

This snipped part is from CBS news as they are not local so the reporting may be a little misunderstood.
But the part about the police surrounding the house is most probably spot on Realtime info.

The RCMP said it's responding to the scene and encouraged residents not to approach the suspect. Police asked residents to call 911 to report any sightings or information.

from the link on my post
I was watching CBC this morning and the reporter said all press had been asked to leave the reservation. The reporters were waiting at the entrance to the reserve for family and friends to approach them when they were ready to talk.

I wonder why they would change that stance and allow an AP reporter in?

I think this AP reporter was the first to report that particular incident and then everyone else reported it also.

so we now have Myles criminal history - I can't help but wonder about Damien - he could be completely innocent in all of this.

Respectfully, but I can’t believe he was innocent of involvement. The injured survivor regarding the attempted murder charge would know who was the attacker. In fact the 17 or 18 survivors would be aware of exactly what transpired and I doubt the RCMP would name someone a dangerous suspect without any proof of involvement. Nobody stands by and allows that many innocent people to be stabbed if they are not a willing participant. JMO

”Prior to the discovery of his body, Damien was charged with one count of first degree murder, one count of attempted murder and one count of break and enter. Police say Damien, who is included amongst the 11 dead, is still a suspect in the killings until proven otherwise.”

It’s possible the sighting in Regina was mistaken and he never left the reserve. But what happened to the stolen black Nissan Rogue? The vast majority of reserve housing that I’ve ever seen do not include garages or other large outbuildings.

Saskatchewan RCMP also issued this alert 2 hours ago.

Maybe for their own safety? Residents are being asked to shelter inside and reserves are private property, not public land.

I really hope that they can capture him with no further casualties. Those poor people have been through enough.

''After the alert was sent to residents, RCMP cruisers could be seen driving down the gravel road at an entrance to the reserve as news media — who have mostly been asked to stay outside of the community itself — lingered outside.

''Roughly a kilometre from the band office, police had set up a small barricade with an unmarked car where officers checked the trucks of anyone coming or going.''

''As of Monday afternoon, four of the stabbing victims remained in critical condition, according to a statement from the Saskatchewan Health Authority.

Of the 17 who went to a hospital for treatment, nine are in stable condition and four were discharged home to family.''

In an alert, the authorities asked people to shelter in place as a large number of police cruisers and unmarked trucks raced at a high speed toward the north side of the reserve, which covers about 27 square miles. The police vehicles converged around Saskatchewan River on the north end of the reserve. The buzzing sound of ATVs could be heard from the river valley.

At the home of Ivor Wayne Burns, whose sister, Gloria Lydia Burns, 61, was among the dead, young men stood outside, and guarded the home, armed with .22 caliber rifles.

A day before the police action on Tuesday, Mr. Burns had said his sister, who was a member of a community crisis response team, had been found lying in a driveway in the Cree Nation reserve with two other victims.
In the article someone noted that they locked their doors for the first time ever. It’s like they’re being held hostage by terror. I can’t begin to imagine not feeling safe in my own home. :(

It was on a video attached to a CBC article this am - I watched it twice.....but now that article doesn't have the video attached. I'm kind of tech challenged.

The reporter said something like "the band has asked all press to leave the reservation to give them space and time to process what has happened". I'm really paraphrasing, but that was the gist of it. So the reporters and camera operators were waiting at the entrance to the reserve for "people to come to them" and "they didn't need to wait very long". They had a couple of interviews with family members.

I'll continue to look for the video, it was on CBC this morning and the reporter was a male with blondish hair reporting from just outside the reserve.

Edit to add video! (I shouldn’t be a witness - his hair is gray! Erin Collins with CBC)

This article may be behind a paywall, I'm not sure but I was able to open it up, just a heads up.
The interesting thing I noted from this article is that it states Myles was sighted on foot in the James Smith Cree Reservation. Its possible that LE wanted Myles to think LE thought he was in Regina. I say that because police did already issue a "Shelter in Place" notice to residents of the Reservation. Another poster had originally stated the ruse by police but I thought that would be extremely dangerous as a different poster had mentioned in their post. But the "Shelter in Place" would cover that, however. IDK someone must've helped him with his injuries because from what I assumed he seemed pretty injured needing serious emergency aid. At the smae time if it was a confirmed sighting in Regina??????
