I'm not sure why chose to dump parts in Ontario. I forgot to mention that another reason I think it could be the gangster from Montreal is because he went missing on the Thursday before the body parts were found on the Saturday, May 22nd. The remains were 'fresh' and were estimated to have been dumped either on the Friday night or early Saturday morning. I have to search for the links but I think they may have already been posted on this thread, have to check. I also agree that it could be a biker thing. JMO

As you said matou, the dates coincide, but I'm thinking LE must have already compared DNA from PR with DNA from the body parts, JMO. I don't know how long it takes for the forensic labs to get the results though.

It's just my opinion, but I would guess PR's wife, Maria, would have given LE his DNA (toothbrush, comb, clothing, etc.) or allowed the forensics unit into her home to get it. She is the one who reported him missing, and must be very worried, so IMO she must be cooperating with LE. She is the sister of Vito Rizzuto, Montreal's alleged Mafia boss, and she is Nicolo Rizzuto's daughter.

Paolo Renda, 70, was last seen Thursday afternoon in Montreal's northwest Cartierville district while running errands in his car.

His wife, Maria, grew worried as the afternoon grew late and Renda didn't come home. She went to look for him, retracing his regular route along Gouin Boulevard.

She later told police she spotted Renda's Infiniti sedan parked on the road near Albert-Prévost Avenue. The car was unlocked, with its windows rolled down and keys in the ignition. The family decided to call police around 6 p.m.

Renda is believed to be the right-hand man to Nicolo (Nick) Rizzuto, presumed patriarch of Canada's most well-known Mafia clan.

Renda's wife is Nicolo Rizzuto's daughter, and his brother-in-law, Vito Rizzuto, is Montreal's alleged Mafia boss, now serving time in a Colorado prison on racketeering charges related to three Brooklyn cold-case homicides in the '80s.

Thanks for that Hazel. That's what I was hinting at though ... as worried as his wife may be, I'm not so sure any of Renda's bio family, or the Rizzuto family, or any of the "mafia family" is going to allow anybody's DNA to be accessed by LE.

He is already missing, presumably kidnapped, so I was thinking what would she/family got to lose by providing his DNA to LE if only to rule him out as a potential victim of that gruesome dismemberment case. Would be interesting to find out if she/they have provided it or if they have refused. You got me thinking now sillybilly :idea:

Post-mortem results on body parts stalled



The results of a post-mortem examination on human remains found in Muskoka

on May 28 will not be available for at least one more week.

The remains were located on the shoulder of Stoneleigh Road, south of

Muskoka Road 117 by an employee of a paving company who was working in the

area. Other remains from the same body were found by residents out for walks


on May 22 in Oro-Medonte and Lake of Bays Townships.

A post mortem examination on the most recent discovery was conducted at the

Centre of Forensic Science (CFS) in Toronto on Tuesday.

OPP officers assigned to this ongoing investigation have just learned that

the testing being conducted on all of the human remains which have been

located so far will not be available for at least one more week and as a

result, the identity of the victim of this homicide remains unconfirmed.

Detectives from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), under the direction of

Detective Inspector Rene Bazinet of the OPP's Criminal Investigations Branch

(CIB), are continuing to investigate the homicide.

The OPP is again asking the public to contact them immediately if they come

across anything that appears to be out of place or peculiar to the setting

to which it may have been located in.

Police Await Results: NEWS BRIEFS

Provincial police are still waiting for post-mortem results after a man's body parts were discovered in three different locations last month.

Const. Peter Leon said there is a chance some results will come in as early as Friday, but it will most likely take longer than that.

The post-mortems are being conducted at the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto.

"They're a very busy location," Leon said. "In all fairness, we need to afford them that opportunity."

There haven't been any more discoveries of human remains since May 28, but police say there are still missing body parts from the unidentified Caucasian victim.

Cause and time of death haven't been determined.

Police are asking members of the public to report anything suspicious within the area stretching from Oro- Medonte Township through to Lake of Bays.

According to this article, LE might get some results today. I am wondering if forensics could at least estimate his age. IMO if it was a young male or a very old man, they would have said so already. I pray this person was not tortured, and didn't suffer much. What a terrible thing to do to a body!

On Tuesday, OPP investigators arrested 27-year old Savario (Sam) Lucia Jr., formerly of Bolton. He is facing charges of accessory after the fact to murder and causing an indignity to a human body. He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing which is scheduled to take place today at the Orangeville courthouse.

OPP Det.-Insp. Rene Bazinet has stated that "this investigation is still ongoing and we are confident that all those who are responsible for the murder and dismemberment will be brought to justice."

In June, OPP announced a $50,000 reward to find Conte’s killer.

And police made this first arrest Tuesday.

Lucia was charged with being accessory after the fact to murder and causing an indignity to a human body.

Leon said Lucia wasn’t charged with murder because he’s not believed to have played a role in Conte’s death.

“That person is still outstanding, but this is the first step of many in bringing the person responsible to justice,” said Leon.

Officers are still investigating the case and Leon expects more people to be charged in connection to the death.

“If there’s any information the public may have or is willing to share, it would be appreciated,” said Leon.
He said the $50,000 reward still stands, and wouldn’t disclose if any reward money was being handed out as a result of Lucia’s arrest.

Significant portions of the body have not been recovered at this point, according to previous police information.

Previous media reports have said the feet and head were still missing.

I'm not sure if this would be Conte since it's so far from the location of the other body parts. Anything is possible though. I'm really wondering why the sexing of the skull is taking so long. If the skull isn't complete, then I could see how it's taking so much time. Also, if the teeth are present, this should be the clincher to IDing the individual. JMO

Thanks Hazel. I wonder if the skull has been there for awhile and that is the cause of the state of the remains? I read a report that suggested that the skull had only been there for a week or a month, though. So what do they have? Individual skull bones or a crushed skull? ANY teeth? Maybe all of the forensic anthropologists are away so the skull can't be analyzed yet. I'm also worried that this is not Conte and could be another victim of homicide.

The skull belongs to Peter Gavin, 67. He was murdered and he may have been dead for up to two months.

Arrest made in Flanagan killing
Andrew Keene, 29, charged with murder of Barrie woman


Almost four years after some of her remains were found discarded at opposite ends of the city, Barrie police have arrested and charged a man with the murder of Alexandra Flanagan.

Andrew Keene, 29, of Innisfil, was arrested today and charged with Flanagan's murder.

The specific charges against Keene were not released.

Keene is expected to have a bail hearing on Friday.

Flanagan, 33, was last seen alive July 8, 2007, near Sunnidale Park. Some of her remains were found in October 2007 in Lackie's Bush in the city's south end, and more of her body was found the following February near an east-end path.

How and when Flanagan died haven't been determined. All of her body has yet to be found.

During the course of the investigation, police searched for evidence at a south-end Barrie business as well as a Rose Street home. Police didn't say in either case whether anything significant to the investigation had been found.

Earlier today, city police closed off an area around Bayfield Street and Highway 400 to search for evidence. That search is ongoing and the area will remain closed.

Barrie police are scheduled to hold a news conference Friday at 9 a.m. at the Sperling Drive headquarters.
