I was driving north of Airdrie about 1:30 pm and three black suburbans passed me with lights and sirens. I lost sight of them very fast. So of course I thought.....maybe they found the three bodies. Of course I don't know what the ME's drive. The three vehicles were travelling tight together.

Here is the article about the neighbour going into the house:

http://globalnews.ca/news/1492641/search-for-missing-calgary-family-moves-to-mexico/

Also...checked out the crime map for Calgary ...specified Parkhill....there is a pin that says '3' until you zoom in....then it shows still '2' at the 38a address and another on another street, date, time in Parkhill *mid Sept?* I don't think the 3 are related at all? I don't know...but there are still just 2 when you zoom in....I jumped when I saw the '3' as well thinking it had been changed in regards to the L's...

The creep had served his full sentence, so LEO can't slap an ankle bracelet on him just because they don't like him. Had the courts ordered life-time monitoring with a bracelet, would be a different story (until the creep cut it off or course).

Even if they had a car sitting in front of the guy's house 24/7, he could always slip out a back door

So yeah ... just another day, another creepy SOB on the street to re-offend by (allegedly ) killing a young girl who was in the prime of her life.

He was supposed to be monitored. So they should be able to slap an ankle bracelet on him if he was supposed to be monitored. I'm thinking that could've been one of the conditions as he was re-introduced to society? I understand that he served every single day of his 22 year sentence and his debt was paid, but he was a high risk sex-offender, can't the courts impose this type of monitoring on him?

I read something interesting the other day, there's a community in Florida, called Miracle Village made up of sex-offenders...I think that's a great idea. I saw a bike in one of the pics though, I wonder if they're allowed to have kids? In Florida, the stipulation for a known sex-offender is that they can't come within 1000 feet of any children...1000 ft!! What the heck is that?

Wow! What the heck is going on with all these murders? Calgary is doing a booming business this summer too...another 3 today was it? Of course Edmonton probably isn't any better...I should check. This world is going backwards...it's supposed to get better as we evolve. This is crazy!

To tell you the truth, I wondered what that meant when I read it.. cleaning on the walls??? How do you see 'cleaning on the walls'? like the walls were dirty, and looked like someone had wiped only part of the walls clean, leaving the rest 'dirty' as before??
or.. like someone had cleaned the entire wall... in which case, one might consider that perhaps before holding a massive public sale, someone may have given the home a good cleaning first?

I believe the man said there was cleaning on "the walls" I will try to find the quote.

Seriously, what kind of society are we living in if convicts are let loose from jail, with a known high likelihood of reoffending, into the community where families and innocents live, and leaving it all on the police to 'monitor' these people???? If convicts are that screwed up that they should be 'monitored', then surely there must be a way to keep them behind bars where we already pay the staff to do the monitoring?? And so what if the perp has already 'served his time'... if he is that sick that he is known to likely reoffend, then keep him locked up for mental reasons. Surely we have the authority in our country to protect the people over and above protecting the 'rights' of someone who has already proven to be mentally ill and likely to reoffend. When perps get that label attached to them, where they go onto the sex offender registry, don't we have the right to keep them locked up until they are healed (which would be never)?

Interesting article.
Of course they don't want 'mud on their faces' if they were responsible for monitoring this guy's activities, dropped the ball and it resulted in a murder.
If that's what happened, I'm really disappointed that our federal policing agency doesn't have the intestinal fortitude to put their hand up and say "we screwed up". Why lie and cover up? Innocent people get hurt that way.
Of course, we don't know what actually happened here, that's just my general opinion of this kind of thing.
Yes, my friends...possible proof that LE distorts the truth too, they are after all, human. JMO

I never quite understood that comment about the wall appearing to be cleaned. If it was cleaned properly how would you know it has been cleaned? If a trauma clean-up crew was sent in to remove carpet and scrub walls I would think the walls would show no signs of blood or streaks from being cleaned. I wonder how he could tell the walls were cleaned? Maybe a picture was removed from the wall and he saw the discoloration in the paint compared to the painted wall behind a picture?

ETA: it was extremely traumatizing and handled poorly and I learned a valuable lesson about crowds witnessing an accident. It is this... If you witness an accident and see people on their phones do not assume they have called it in. Always make the call yourself. 911 won't mind.

I got the impression from what I remember is that he was there *during* the cleaning or peeked in during the cleaning. When I get home tonight and on my laptop, I will try to find the article to post.

So true about phoning stuff in, better to be safe than sorry and dial 911.

Unfortunately, I don't think so. If that were the case, we would keep a whole bunch of people locked up...which would be good for society but again, it's the human rights issue.
I personally can't believe he survived 22 years in prison and came out!

That sounds awfully suspicious…I wonder what's up?! Discrete bust or….discovery? Or….

Yes, the courts can, not the police. EM is usually done as an cheaper alternative to incarceration or as a condition of probation. He did his time, and AFAIK, was not on probation.

OT, but for anyone interested, here's a good article on Electronic Monitoring:

Something was up, and I'm sure that in Airdrie country, 3 Black Suburbans driving like that isn't common.

Perhaps our journalist friends will investigate.

This could be a break.

Here is the interview with the man who took a peak in the house. Thanks LoriMca for posting it.

ETA... Why didn't the reporter ask this guy a few questions to clarify his statement? Is that a no-no?

I certainly hope we hear something soon. I have been checking the Alberta Police Reports and Calgary police twitter feed, but nothing yet.

Septic beds or holding tanks that the SOB had access to should be checked.

God, I'm just so p.o. How dare he destroy those lives, and forever alter and break the hearts of all those loved ones?

I think he said "there was some cleaning on the wall". I'm not sure, but does he sound like he may speak another language? Maybe he meant the walls were being cleaned. Which, if the property is being vacated would make sense. I wonder what possessed the moving company employee to ask the neighbor if he wanted to come in and take a look? That's just kind of weird. IMO
