The way I see it, is if an accomplice is associated that person would answer to appropriate charges. The intent of first-degree murder should still apply and be applicable towards DG in relation to the current evidence LE has. The benefit of having another person involved could help with the recovery of the victims as I would imagine there would be opportunity for new information and another trail to follow. If that makes sense.

It would certainly depend on the level of involvement of the accomplice... the Mayerthorpe RCMP shootings had accomplices do jail time, without even being there during the murders.

Another possibility that sits with me is the comment from LE about one single piece of evidence with the smoking-gun reference. I would have to find the direct quote if it needs clarifying, I doubt that was a clue but it got me thinking about the gun possibility. I am not sure that we discussed the idea of a gun being used in the home to much of a degree. I recall comments that it would be too loud and would have been heard but it is quite possible that if windows are closed and it is late in the evening and a long weekend that the chances are slim that anyone would have heard a gun shot. If someone was shot and the other was forced to cooperate for Nathan's sake it would be a much cleaner and simple way to have everyone leave the premises in a quiet and controlled manner. It could even be possible for DG to remove a bullet shell from a wall or wherever it hit if it wasn't used to shoot a person in the home. Or of course someone was shot and that was enough intimidation to bring everyone out and no bullet exited the victim's body. It would be a hard theory to prove without the bodies, a bullet, a gun, gunshot powder, etc.

I've felt strongly about a gun for two reasons: to control to keep quiet and it's quick. No time to struggle, no time to do a long drawn our fight against two people. Guns are easy to keep quiet too and less risk for self injury. I don't think they were sleeping, except I think NO probably was :(

It's certainly possible and worth exploring. I have heard the "smoking gun" reference often from LE. Not in the literal sense but rather to describe a circumstantial case.

You just keep baiting me in hopes that I provide a link to prove you wrong... I'm on to you.
Baiting? As in POF dating site? Ewwwe! You have me confused with the Grandma-Cougar Krystine.

And last night's conversation got snipped, so my apologies for the out of context discussion. news.talk unfortunately has Sam Elliott's voice in her head while she reads my posts, and is obviously taken by his suave, smooth, manly ways.

And for the record, I don't have any euphemistic shortcomings.

Welcome! I myself have thought this very scenario but I keep going back to the crime map and the fact that it still shows that two murders were committed at the Likness home. There may be evidence that DG murdered KL and NO at the home. Then DG may have taken AL as a passenger after and killed him at a different location? I really do think that KL was the victim LE referred to as being in medical distress.

I don't believe the crime map is anything more than a public service. In the past a crime map of a community would appear in the newspaper, to show residents what the police have been up to, what areas are safer than others... I don't think we need to look to it for clues.
To me it doesn't seem feasible that LE would make that information public before the bodies are even cold, so to speak. It hasn't even gone to court, and disclosure has only recently been delivered.
JMO.

You got snipped? THAT explains the missing 6"!

Can it go on record that I was referring to height in those posts that got snipped. I'm a tall girl, I can't even walk beside a guy 5'6", let alone date him. No innuendos on my part, LOL. (I feel my reputation as a gramma is at stake).

Who wants a good reputation? Where's the fun in that? I hear ya about the average male... um... height. I'm 5'11 and scare most men. Except for Sam, aka OutOfTheDarkness. I can't figure out how to scare him!

No, I'll take the blame...even though it was Tinkerbel that brought up the animal print underwear again. My bad.
My point in the beginning was to say the forums on that dating site are downright mercenary. Then I realized, being a cougar grandma, I should try to get my hooks into one of the young lads here...:)

Animal print underwear has been declared a moot point. If you have any links from MSM showing the correlation between animal print underwear and the suspect, please provide a link. It has always been my contention that the suspect wears boxers as evident by his general crankiness. If you can conclusively show otherwise, I am open to discussion.

This line of thought has been niggling in the back of my brain. I spend quite a bit of time in Alberta, and my experience is that people do not leave their windows open much at all. Contrary to here on the beautiful West Coast, where we don't usually even have screens on our windows, Albertans (in my experience) have a phobia about open windows, doors, bugs and West Nile. Also in my experience, the majority of homes have heat pumps/air conditioning. It was very warm in Cowtown at the end of June and I would bet a nickel that most windows and doors were closed and air conditioners were running at Mach 10. If that is/was the case in Parkhill, I somehow suspect that the noise from some sort of gun that shoots bullets would be muffled to a neighbour even a hundred feet away. My opinion and musing only.

Yes, interesting points. If the house was unbearably hot and no air conditioning they could also be spending summer evenings sleeping in the basement. The basement is the coolest option on hot summer nights. Mosquitos are awful in Alberta so screens on windows are typical. The house is older and may not have air conditioning, a lot of homes in AB don't or they are an afterthought and placed in windows so maybe the master bedroom would have it. They can also have the full meal deal a/c but that would be expensive to cool the whole house, I will take a look at the pics of the home and see if a unit is on the side or behind the house. They are loud and if neighbours are running them it would muffle a lot of different sounds from outside.

Did the Liknes' have an a/c unit? A/C units are very popular in Alberta but not everyone has one. If the Liknes' did and if it was running, then that would be assured noise around their house!
