The whole thing was VERY hush-hush! A large LE presence and if SAR was there, I would venture a guess that they were brought in *because* they found something, not as a routine search.

Did we find out any information about the business and if DG was connected to it in any way that could have given him access? I would think it would be fairly secure and not easily breached.

I can try to find out about the building but not tonight (getting sleepy), maybe tomorrow unless someone beats me to it.

Thanks. I'll take a look. Speaking of buttercup... where for out thou?

I know there's lots of posters not on much anymore. Where's goodasgold too? There's a few not around anymore, maybe they're just reading and not posting...

Actually, I think it was another building in the area, not an agriculture/livestock port mortem facility (thank goodness).

IIRC, wasn't the post mortem photo out dated or wasn't it no longer in use?? I'm searching online and it *seems* anything to do with animals in that location area is tightly run and no one can just go drop off diseased or dead animals, so I'm hoping this is unlikely. I feel a sense of relief and hoping it's not a possibility.

I am looking for some clarification... Is CH's husband KH? Is it possible that was a name misprint early on and since than all the media and interviews have not ever corrected or verified it? I have seen his name two other ways and that is K Ainskow and Heilbrunn, MD. Has that been sorted out already?

Not sure about this….intriguing though…I wonder what his name is?

There was an article printed at the time of the first court appearance CH spoke at that printed his name as her maiden name...apparently Hodgins is Cherri's maiden name. It could be he took her last name...some guys are doing that now. ??? I tried looking it up on FB, but her FB page has been secured, it wasn't before, so that doesn't help us in finding out. :/

I found the article wherein it stated that LE was searching areas 'near' the Garland property in Airdrie (see below), however it seems those searches were done early on in the investigation (July 7). That other tiny statement in the Rocky Mountain News about closing off the entrance to the old Cam Clark Ford building reported it happened on July 19th. I can't tell if it (the article below) is just an instance of 'bad reporting' again, because it almost seems like the author meant to say something like 'searched 3 separate areas on the Garland property near Airdrie', as opposed to what was written.

CBC News Posted: Jul 07, 2014 10:38 AM MT Last Updated: Jul 07, 2014 10:08 PM MT (BBM)

Around 4:30 p.m. MT, Calgary police announced they were wrapping up their search of a site near the Airdrie acreage that has been the focus of massive search efforts over the past three days. After police ended their search, RCMP officers continued working their way through the field but began packing up around 6:20 p.m. and now say they have also wrapped up for the day.

The search is expected to resume on Tuesday.

Throughout Monday afternoon, police searched three new sites near the property from which Douglas Garland, who they call a "person of interest," was brought in for questioning in regards to the case on Friday night. Garland was later released, but has been charged over the recent use of a stolen identity which he had used during the 1990s while evading police on drug charges in Vancouver.

Officers searched through three separate fields around the Garland property on Monday and brought in a member of the canine unit to assist with the shoulder-to-shoulder searches carried out by police.

I think PowerofTwo meant.. wonders where many of this thread's previous posters went to, the ones who seem to no longer be here at all any more. I am also wondering :(

Has there been anything decided about the back fence at the Liknes home? I'm still of the opinion a section comes out. Wonder if we can get a clearer picture of the back grass to see if there was a vehicle on it at all...as Stan mentioned, even tracks from long ago should still be visible. I will check google maps to see if theres an aerial photo of some sort that might show us something.

So, has anyone looked at the names? Is that not a little odd to have 3 aliases. We already have DG using an alias so does that mean this guy is hiding from something? I will send links if you would like to know what I am talking about. I think I can post them here, if not PM me.

What names?

FWIW ... re 3 potential crime scenes. Not 100% sure of the significance, but IIRC, the only 3 locations crime scene tape was used was at the Liknes home, the Garland farm, and the pond north of the farm. I don't recall there being any in the landfill pics or at the agricultural building.

WRT the use of initials IF the person's name has been used in MSM:

http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...ex-Offenders-and-Rumors&p=4863073#post4863073

IOW, if KH was referred to with the H surname in MSM, it's okay to use the full name for KH, but if his other possible surnames were not used in MSM and only found as a result of sleuthing, then we shouldn't be using the alternate surnames. I think it's best practice to uses initials at all times.

If in doubt at any time, best to ask a Mod prior to posting.

Thanks for pointing that out deugirtni, that could definitely be the third too. Very curious where this is, or what type of area it is.

It is odd to me. How many people use aliases? And why? I think it's natural to feel suspicious about people who change their names mid life, especially professionals. I think it's definitely something to raise eyebrows Lois.
