Looks like the same outfit from his perp walk which was at night time, maybe this photo was from earlier that day.

I think maybe street clothes are not allowed, or he just doesn't care. I wonder how we can get clarification on that.

Is this today? Has it been addressed why he is wearing prison clothes? Does he just not give a crap what the jury thinks of him???

I doubt the most well-dressed man would be looked at favorably by a jury in a case like this, haha.

Also, prison clothes in Canada are jeans and T shirt? I didn't realize, I'm used to the orange jumpsuits of the US

When are people (criminals) going to realize that everything is recorded now? The same thing happened in the Bosma case.

IMO These criminals think they are smarter than EVERYONE else so even if they know there are CCTV cameras, they delude themselves into believing the "dumb cops" will never get that far. Ha! What's that old bromide: Pride comes before a fall :)

I think I read that he has been wearing a blue prison jumpsuit in court. So either he is now wearing jeans to court or the picture is old.

This court room sketch shows him in something blue. Maybe a jumpsuit or maybe that blue t-shirt although the sketch artist has a distinctive colour on the collar so it might not be that blue t-shirt.

We have those same locks on all our doors. It kinda sucks knowing that the lock can be bypassed by drilling two holes as shown. I don't know if other locks are as easy to bypass.

Me too. I was also under the illusion it was a safe lock.

He's definitely wearing the blue jumpsuit from the Calgary remand centre. It's depicted in the court drawings and it's the same thing I saw him wear in person at the preliminary hearing. I was just going along with the speculation on why he has to wear that and isn't wearing nice street clothes instead.

I remember reading the 1st or 2nd day of trial he was wearing his blue jumpsuit so I'm assuming he just doesn't care...and I don't think he would start caring 4 days into his trial lol...he doesn't seem to care about much

My locks are a few years older (2013-2014) and that locksmith mentioned they have had minor changes over the years so hopefully mine are a little more secure. I'm actually quite tempted now to try to drill one to see if I can bypass it.

That is the prison jumpsuit - it has black trim - collar and cuffs and if I remember correctly the breast pocket is also trimmed in black.

I was just searching to see if it's possible that inmates wear jail clothing whereas anyone "at liberty but on trial" would wear civilian clothes. I didn't find anything definitive but this is interesting: http://fightthecharges.com/clothing-to-inmates

Scary thing is that now (given this testimony) so many people know how to bypass that lock! Thankful for my dogs :)

Yes I think that link explains it! Very informative. Also I found news articles describing other murder suspects appearing in court last year in Calgary as wearing the blue remand centre suit.

So this seems par for the course and I'm guessing he is not permitted to wear something different.

Does anyone know if any of the victims family are going to court daily? It would be so hard to sit through and listen to it.

A reporter tweeted that Nathan's parents were in court every day but today so far.

In the tweets today it was mentioned the O'Brien's were not in court today. It must be unimaginably traumatic for them. The not-yet-healed wound fully re-opened.
