I'm still confused as to how he managed to subdue and transport them. AL must have been SUPER heavy if he was incapacitated. He likely dragged him in a sheet since they were all missing. Gagged and bound maybe? I'm thinking the blood evidence at the house will tell us AL was struck first, and then he found NO and KL in the guest room and incapacitated them 2nd.

I'm pretty sure KL and NO left the basement and went upstairs to sleep sometime soon after JO left. And the discarded PJs make sense as my kids usually kick off those footy pjs as "too hot" halfway through the night. Maybe they came off as he went upstairs to sleep with KL?

MOO

There was a question asked of JO as to whether either of the Ls were diabetic.... I'm thinking we'll hear more about that later. Could explain a lot if a syringe was located in the home.

.....snipped for focus.......

It is hard to understand how he managed to get the two adults loaded in his vehicle by himself if they were knocked out. It makes me wonder if he had handcuffed them and waited till AL and KL was able to walk again and made them all get in his vehicle. With the boy being present they would probably not want to jump out of the vehicle while it was moving. They would have wanted to stay with the boy.

Its horrible to think that they were all still alive when leaving their residence. I unfortunately hope they all were deceased before going to his property but things seem to point the other way.

It is my understanding that realtors are obliged to disclose if there has been criminal activity on property before closing the sale. Perhaps they only have to disclose if directly asked?

There seems to be quite a lot of fuzziness on this issue of stigmatized properties, currently the only province with Disclosure laws, is Quebec. Otherwise there is no law, it seems like if directly asked the realtor may choose not to answer, or ask the buyer to research it - but if they choose to answer - they legally cannot lie about it.

[h=2]"A stigmatized property is one that has an unfavourable quality that may make it less attractive for reasons that are unrelated to its physical condition or features. Examples of stigma issues may include:[/h]
    • [h=3]a suicide or death in the property[/h]
    • [h=3]the property was the scene of a major crime[/h]
    • [h=3]the address of the property has the wrong numerals[/h]
    • [h=3]reports that a property is haunted[/h]
What one person finds unacceptable may not be a stigma to another.
Generally speaking, sellers are not legally required to disclose property stigma."

Would be very easy to subdue them with an injection.........knock them out - inject............

That's an interesting point! It doesn't say that they were 'without clothing', but rather that they were without shirts and pants.

That would be perhaps another way to say that they were half-naked, with only briefs/panties that actually may be adult diapers.

My guess is that the police found some adult diapers (probably unused) and as there are very few stores where one can buy them in Airdrie/Calgary (like CO-OP Medical) they were able to track down the purchase and obtain a video of it. The Crown was aiming to establish that DG purchased these diapers not for himself or his parents, but for the victims.

I believe the diapers were used to avoid dealing with faces as one would expect the victims in such circumstances must have had diarrhea.

Respectfully snipped

That would be my idea too but, the prosecution has already told us that they found searches on a hard drive (computer storage) belonging to Garland that were sexual fetish type of 'restrained women in diapers' 😠😢

I remember we speculated on different photos of DG after his arrest, trying to decide if he had scratches or marks on his face. I'm going to look back now...

If you google Douglas Garland Arrest Photo images there are pics of him from every angle. I'm not seeing much for visible injuries except a spot on his forehead which may not even be an injury. Still looking...
