I wonder if LE has looked at DG for the MMIW.

I wonder if they are waiting for this trial to be completed (with a guilty verdict hopefully) until they lay more charges against him? I think if they found evidence linking him to other murders, potentially making him a serial killer, the release of that information would have turned this trial into a circus, imo.

Thats a good point.

The Lake Bonavista murders is another murder of a long married couple that I think is unsolved to this day. One of the sketches resembles him. Sketches are tough though because so many people look like sketches.

I'm really intrigued by what could have been talked about regarding the restraints when the jury was asked to leave. If the Crown, Defense and Judge are talking about evidence that is part of the trial why would the jury not be privy to that information?

It would be my guess the Defense objected to some testimony. Jury is sent out while the Lawyers hammer it out. Judge rules. Jury brought in and told to disregard whatever the testimony was or nothing is said and they move on.

I don't even know what to say about this evidence. If he had a whole box of different types of restraints was he planning to continue doing this to other women?

I checked princess auto sight. Typed in restraints figuring it would yield nothing. Which it did. Typed in straps. Many. So thinking he modified them?

These seem like normal things to have especially on an acreage. Why would he feel the need to hide them if not for sinister purposes?

We'll fins out once the trial is over. The press will be allowed to report it then.

I made a list of all the strange things that LE confiscated from him.

These are things that could be used in a murder or crime IMO. I may have missed a couple items. I tried to only list items that could be used in a crime.

-Tazers
-2 Silencers for guns
-Handguns
-Spent cartridge in a ziplock baggie....hmmmmm
-Ammunition
-Brass Knuckles
-Leather Restraints + Straps
-Handcuffs
-Leashes
-Rope
-2 Daggers and Sheaths
-Lock Picking Tools with number of padlocks and lockparts like maybe he practiced to pick locks. Also Key Blanks

That would be it.

"it" indeed. That was awful. I remember bursting into tears (I'm a guy) when he was found guilty. Balled my eyes out.

Putting items in rafters may not be an attempt to hide anything. It depends on the context and what the straps were stored away with. Rafters are a great place to store stuff. In this case, it looks like he had quite a stash of stuff stored into boxes in categories (keys and lock building stuff, gun building, etc) and things in kits or sets (straps and cuffs)

Further, Oxton said investigators discovered a box containing dozens of restraints (metal handcuffs , leather restraints, cotton restraints)—one he said was so old fashioned he didn’t even recognize—and others generally used to shackle prisoners.

"Some of them appeared to be very new and recently purchased," he said.

Another box from the rafters of the outbuilding contained round upon round of ammunition as well as three handgun bodies, pieces to make a handgun, handgun silencers and parts of a Taser.

Keys, lock parts, locksmithing tools and lock picking tools were also found in abundance in a box in the same outbuilding.

That is what struck me too about what LE found. DG had a lot of the strange things all together in boxes or plastic storage bins as if he was trying to hide them or trying to keep them together as a set.

If all those items had been just scattered around his house and garage then they would not have stood out as much.

Back to last night's puzzlers that I listed (briefly I promise) for myself.
If you look at this article, at the picture of Kathy and Nathan on that last day (at the link below) does anyone notice a green sweater? Could JO'B have forgotten the sweater when she left that night, and DG grabbed it thinking it was NO'B's? Could it be the green sweater that Sully was interested in at DG acreage?

I hear you. When the shrieks and crying wails echoed thru the Courthouse halls upon verdict it was forever seared in my brain.

I bet you are correct about the green sweater. I think maybe the boy may have felt he should bring it along if he sensed he would not be returning to the grandparents house.

He was probably trying to do the right thing so he could return it to his sibling.

BTW
There are the peach colored shorts described by JO that were listed in the Amber Alert.

I think the fact that so many different types of restraints and weapons were found shows how obsessed he was with all of this. He was collecting and gathering as much as he could. He probably got some perverse enjoyment just from having all of these restraints and weapons of torture.

Agree. I thought later since Sully was not allowed in the building was Sully hitting on the sweater or the rack it was hanging on? I think now it's the little sweater.
