Justice Gates says if #Garland's future was only up to the parole board - the courts wouldn't have the responsibility of sentencing.

Judge #Gates says there's no rehabilitation factor here. #Garland would be 79 after 25 years.

Ross says sentences for Alvin and Kathy should be concurrent, and for Nathan consecutive. In other words a 50 year sentence. #Garland

Nancy HixtVerified account ‏@NancyHixt 2m2 minutes ago
Defence wants just one consecutive sentence- for Nathan, but not for Kathy..so 50 years before eligible for parole #Garland

Letting him read the agony he put the family through is defenses last gift to the murderer. I'm sure he is thrilled to see their pain!

I have had my candle lit since today's statements began, green in honor of little Nathan. I feel a bit of myself fading into numbness, and my thoughts drifting to the family left without their beloved members, forever to move through life with three pieces missing. What do they do now? How do they move forward and regain joy in living? Their lives have been on constant hold for three years. No more do they have to come to court proceedings, hear the terrible details over and over, hold themselves together. But how ... how does one move on from this? I am feeling an overwhelming sadness and ache for them that is goung to be hard to overcome. If so hard for me..... what do they do now? The quiet and lack of focus on this trial is behind them .... what comes next?

Praying for peace and joy to return, and the ability to adjust to the path ahead.

Well since he has no one then prison forever is perfect. I don't see what the problemo is.

Ross has handed in his submissions, Sanders will address one issue #Garland #YYC

Kevin MartinVerified account ‏@KMartinCourts 1m1 minute ago
Even one period of consecutive ineligibility would put #Garland well over 100 before he could seek release, says Ross.

Bill GravelandVerified account ‏@BillGraveland 1m1 minute ago
Ross admits that #Garland's possibility of seeking parole if he is over 100 years of age is "very remote".

Sanders again...
