It seems highly unlikely to me that the step-grand dad would plot his disappearance after 'harming' his wife, and take his 5 year old step grandchild along. If tensions were that high in terms of bankruptcy and financial losses, I just don't see a motive.

If AL used the truck to transport KL 'to the hospital' with NO, it could be that he hosed the truck down (of the blood) before he (and whomever else) headed back (into town?) to put the truck back... which could be why only one panel was muddy. It was a quick and dirty 'wash'. jmo

hold that thought,,, no wash took place but the truck did go for a drive if I can find out if it was for sale. hold tight, I need to take a pic with my phone of my car today.

I feel so sad for NO. Regardless of what has happened he must be scared being away from him mom, dad and siblings. I pray there is a positive outcome but feel so distraught for this little boy.

Or the parents, but they don't appear to be around. Hopefully LE has been able to talk them via phone.

I'm following the money. *Everything* reported about the L's is about getting rich, making a quick buck. They had just declared bankruptcy and yet it was reported that they were handing out flyers about their estate sale at the Casino.

On KL's face book page virtually every post since she joined in 2007 is income profit related and advertisements for products - services and promotions. Seems IMO too many ventures have contributed to chronic financial issues. At some point these matters usually crack and being the business dissolved 13 days ago may have been the stressor that broke the proverbial camel's back. IMO, I think this was a heat of the moment crisis within the home and not an outside situation. It is easy to get caught up in the complexities of all the business dealings, connections with families on both sides and especially details about DG however and imagine all sorts of made for tv plots but I think it is a matter of a domestic dispute gone awry and NO was as the parents have said was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Having said that, I think there is a good chance NO would be alive then as I do not see any grandparent harming a grandchild.

Neither sources are particularly strong.

For #1, she could be confused or unwilling to discuss. And for #2, NY Daily News is not exactly known for impeccable accuracy, let alone having a scoop on what would be a peripheral story for them.

For lack of a better weighting system, I feel like these cancel each other out.

If I were forced to pick one, I'd say #1 is the more credible and that NY Daily News made an accidental conclusion jump. But the whole back story of this theory remains tantalizing.

Wow, IMO, how incredibly rude and inappropriate to pester an elderly woman in the nursing home she resides in, to ask about the man who stole/used the ID of her long-since deceased son. How obnoxious to me.

Let's suppose that this was a domestic situation. All of the family vehicles are accounted for. How did anyone leave the property?

AL's company went bankrupt 3 weeks before he went missing. I'm not sure if this was posted yet, trying to get caught up.

Storm shelters would certainly not be very common in this part of Alberta. Have never heard of anyone having one here.

Surely AL would have no interest, at the age of 66, of running away with a 5 year old kid belonging to his wife's daughter?

I think something happened to AL and KL, not between them.

I get the vibe that the L's and O's are wound pretty tightly at the best of times. They were in business ventures together and went bankrupted together. I'm thinking KL "sold" them on investing in at least one venture and it could be why RO (and by default JO) went bankrupt. JO's following statement tells me that KL had a demeanor for when she was selling and another when she wasn't working.

JO from the press conference: "And people would buy stuff and my mom was being herself being a sales lady and she was just so friendly to everybody ..."

How many think 'good things' about sales people? Would buy is not bought. So KL was working very hard to persuade people to buy their stuff and from what was reported, not much was sold so she would have been tired and frustrated/disappointed? NO would have made her happy?

NO was old enough to recant what he would have seen and heard. Age and desire aside, he wouldn't have left him behind to talk... and conversely NO's parents are counting on him loving him too much to hurt him.

Very hard to witness the parents in such duress.

I'm in Ontario and both my bank cards have my name on them (two different banks).
