Police concerned for public safety after CAMH patient goes missing
camh-missing.jpg

"Anthony Murdock was last seen on Tuesday around 2:20 p.m. in the Queen Street West and Ossington Avenue area.

He is described as six feet one inch tall, 200 pounds and has a shaved head.

Police said he was out with an escort on an accompanied pass when he walked away.

Const. Rod Reid told 680 NEWS Murdock was found not criminally responsible for an indecent act that occurred in 1998.

Murdock was last seen wearing a burgundy cotton top and blue jeans.

Police say they are concerned for public safety. Anybody who spots him is asked not to approach him, but to call 911."

Another CAMH detainee deemed risk to public escapes while out on pass
"Yet another CAMH detainee with a history of escapes walked away from the Queen St. psychiatric institution Tuesday afternoon.

Sources confirmed to the Sun that 47-year-old Anthony Murdock, reported missing Tuesday evening from the Queen St. and Ossington Ave. area, is a detainee in the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health’s general forensic unit — home for those determined by the courts not criminally responsible for criminal offences.

The tweet, sent just before 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, says Murdock was last seen at 2:20 p.m."

"In light of the high-profile escapes, CAMH CEO Dr. Catherine Zahn announced last week their pass and privilege policies would be subjected to an external review."

Man who vanished from CAMH earlier this week taken into police custody in Brampton
“We did receive information around 2:30 a.m. that Anthony Murdock had been located in the area of Brampton. We were contacted and then he was transported here to Toronto. He is scheduled to appear in court this morning at Old City Hall,” Toronto police spokesperson Katrina Arrogante told CP24. “There is no indication at this point that he is linked to any type of incidents in Peel or in Toronto. We simply have him appearing in court with regards to a failure to comply charge.”

This is the third person to “escape” from CAMH recently who has a violent history. They NEED to re-evaluate their procedures because this is ridiculous.
