Jennie Thompson said her stepfather, 70-year old Tony Adevai, of Wasilla, was supposed to be home Wednesday from a trip to Oregon for his brother’s funeral.
“He called and spoke to us on Sunday saying he would be home Thursday,” Thompson said. “We received a call from the (Royal Canadian Mounted Police Wednesday) saying they found his truck abandoned on the highway.”


Thompson said that even more disconcerting is the fact that a male a placed 911 call about 30 miles from Iskut, British Columbia on Monday. Iskut is about 120 miles northeast of Ketchikan.

RCMP say searchers in B.C. have found human remains in an area where a missing Alaska man disappeared in late November 2016.

Anthony Adevai, 70, was last seen near Kinaskan Lake, along the Stewart-Cassiar Highway south of Dease Lake, in northwestern B.C. He was driving home to Alaska after visiting family and attending his brother's funeral in Oregon.
