Have Ariel's parents seen the park footage yet and if not, why not?

If I were his parents, I would be wanting even more to speak to that witness and see the video footage. I can't imagine thinking for a week that my son was wandering in a park for 3 hours, only to be told that it was a mistake. I would be frustrated at not being able to talk to that woman myself, that's for sure. I suddenly understand the dad's position. What's going on with the PI they hired, I wonder.

There's no reason to believe that Ariel wandered around the park for three hours. No one knows how long he was at the park. He was seen at the waterfront at 11:25, he may have slipped into the water at 11:30. Furthermore, the family stated that Ariel left home at 12:15, so if the 2PM on Monday time was accurate, that still only means that he was at the park for an hour. Only the parents can understand why their son went to the park rather than straight home.

The family is determined to believe that Ariel was not at the park, but that he was abducted at the friend's apartment and is still there. Therefore, they didn't spend any time worrying about Ariel at the park.

What if the witness is walking to the park at the same time as Ariel? What if the family decides that anyone else in the footage with Ariel is also a suspect? Given that the family is looking to hold someone responsible for their missing son, perhaps police need to protect the identity of others in the footage before sharing it with anyone.

I think if I were the witness to speaking with Ariel and saw this grieving father pleading to speak with me, I would speak with him, if only a phone call. I would give a description of the boy I spoke with, What was said, his demeanor, what he was wearing. I might keep my identity unknown to him, but I would try to help in any way I could. The father has said that he wants to ask the witness what Ariel was wearing. That suggests that he does not believe that the witness actually spoke to Ariel. The father is filled with grief, and it is not always easy to deal with other people's grief. On the one hand we want the witness to be compassionate with the family, but on the other hand I would not want to be in a position of being confronted by a grieving family that didn't believe my witness statement.

The family viewed CCTV footage from a restaurant where they saw some blurry figures and a car. They said the car entered the complex but did not leave the complex. They seem to believe that Ariel was grabbed by the people in the car. Police did a door to door search, and I'm sure they checked all the units in the complex.

I too don't understand why the family and friends are so sure Ariel is still in that apartment complex. Is there a specific unit they want LE to check?

Someone on Ariel's facebook group said this yesterday :

I really think this was a kidnapping, my brother's friend's little brother also lives in that same area. And two days after Ariel went missing, his little brother who is 10 years old was walking to take the school bus when he was stopped by someone in a black dodge and the guy was wearing a skii mask and told him to come in his car and he knew his parents, the kid went running and then the man let out his dog and the kid ran into the school on louisberg and he told an adult there and the teachers callled the cops... I KNOW THIS SEEMS LIKE A CRAZY STORY, and its actually true, i think ariel's should ask the cops about this incident, because there was a police report that was actually filed. I asked my brother to get the police report from his friend. I know there is a lot of false stories going around and want to legitimate my claims, i didnt speak up earlier because i thought the cops were already looking for this man who tried to kidnap a 10 year old kid in the same neighbourhood DAYS after ariel's disappearance. Maybe there is no link to these incidents but now that the cops are saying they think he fell into the river---it;s like...... HOW COULD THEY IGNORE THIS INCIDENT? are the cops just hiding this incideint, i thought what happen to my brothers friends 10 year old brother would be more exposed so that people would be aware on what angle to look for.... but now that the cops are thinking otherwise i think theyre completely ignoring this angle because they dont wanna scare the public.

at school where it is! I'm so glad to see someone published this story! On a group called
Ahuntsic bazaar I wrote that and people started to call me "crazy" that it looked like a
movie etc! People do not want to know it's crazy.

Many people are confirming it's true..

No matter what happened to Ariel, if you live in that area be careful.

That apartment complex needs to install surveillance cameras around the premises, pointing to the front, side and back parking lots ASAP, if only to stop these claims in case they are not true, but also to capture any suspicious activities. JMO

I don't really understand why the family thinks that Ariel was picked up in a car and taken into the apartment complex when a witness places Ariel at the park shortly after learning that his friend was not at home. Ariel is known to be in the park, and he is not seen leaving the park. I'm guessing that the only way to leave the park without being caught with CCTV is in the river.

I'm also wondering whether the family will accept that Ariel slipped into the water and drowned if the body is found in the water. Wouldn't they still insist that he was kidnapped and then dumped in the river?

My opinion only, I seriously doubt if he was kidnapped, that those responsible would come back to get another kid with the amount of press this is getting. Once again it's just my opinion, generated by my mind

Investigators are basing the theory on how they found footage, from security cameras, of the boy entering the park but could not find footage of him leaving. They have also said they have not closed the door on the possibility the boy might have been abducted.

When I said three hours, I was referring to the original timeline from 11:15 (footage camera) to the reported 2:30 sighting.

I still don't understand the new 11:25 time... is that from the park footage or the witness? Or both?

Why would the family suggest that police have never raised the very likely drowning theory with them? That strikes me as very odd, since that would be the only reason investigators were looking in the water.

The family said that Ariel left the house at 12:15. The original time attributed to the witness was 2PM. Reality is that Ariel left the house at 11AM. He was at his friend's house at 11:15. A witness spoke to him at 11:25. Ariel was at the waterfront when he spoke with the witness.

I believe they are saying police did not tell them about the footage showing him entering the park before it was in the newspapers.
