this was a sexual assault..would they not have quite a bit of DNA..I have not followed this case until now and maybe it needs to be brought again to the forefront..this is a very long time to have such a viscous crime with no arrest made. Why do they say it is a stranger that committed the crime if they don't know who committed the crime..it maybe someone that she may not know personally but that she may see around.

Glad you are here! We won't rest until we get justice for AG!

I too would be surprised if Audrey had her car listed for sale anywhere. It was a 2010 and came off the line in 2009. We don't know exactly when she purchased it, but it was her baby (in addition to her fur babes).

I wonder if Audrey ever attended car events before she bought hers.

In June 2010, race car driver Ashley McM****** unveiled her new race car "the car you may have seen in the movie Transformers", the 2010 Camaro SS, at Brassie's Pub in Ancaster.

I also wonder about where the car is now. It would be part of AG's estate - have we ever heard if it was released to her executor? Surely LE does not just keep it indefinitely... once they've done forensics on it, and photographed it, etc... I wonder at what point they release such things that are part of an investigation?

  • #66
No, we have never heard about where the car went after it was taken by LE from the garage.

And I have no idea how long things are kept by LE after forensics are finished.

Maybe LV (or someone) told LE to put the car up for sale at a police auction???????????????

Not sure that a victim's vehicle would be included in a police auction - from http://www.hamiltonpolice.on.ca/HPS/Services/Property/PublicAuctions.htm

The Hamilton Police Service regularly seizes or recovers property for which the lawful owner cannot be determined or the items are unclaimed.

Previously, this merchandise was sold off through scheduled auctions held in police facilities.

In conjunction with Police Auctions Canada, the Hamilton Police has joined with the Halton and Toronto Police Services to move our auctions onto web-based bidding through eBay. Now you can bid from the comfort of your home, and have access to a wider variety of items.

Presumably, AG's Camaro would be claimed by LV, as executor, once it was released - why would she not? If the car brought back bad memories for her, she could sell it - and if not, perhaps she would drive it herself.

Or maybe it is just sitting in LE custody still, which presumably would mean that the distribution of AG's estate could not be finalized.

snipped: I am fairly certain LV is not driving AG vehicle. LV purchased a new veh .

Could THAT be the reason why we only see the passenger side of her car?
<rsbm>

And of course you mean "driver's side" ;) ... I think that reporters could only take pics from Indian Trail (thus only the driver's side). The property was cordoned off as a crime scene and the only other vantage point to see the passenger side would have been from private property.

:floorlaugh:Yes, I mean the driver's side (unless I've moved to England!!).:floorlaugh:

I wonder if Audrey was killed INSIDE the car?

http://www.thespec.com/news-story/2182146-friends-remember-audrey-gleave/

AG visited LV's home every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. for coffee. IIRC, (paraphrasing) PK said AG was a stickler about time, so that Camaro must have been a familiar sight parked in LV's driveway every Sunday arriving at 9:30 a.m. sharp.

Could it be that someone in LV's neighbourhood followed AG home one day and then returned to AG's after xmas? They would have seen the Camaro at LV's Boxing Day if they happened to drive by LV's home over the holidays.

More speculation.

I'm not sure about this but something tells me that anyone can learn the identity of a person through one's licence plates. Perhpas the home address as well.

Does anyone know for certain?

Interesting question! I found this - the whole article is quite interesting, I'm surprised at how much information others can access about me! Yikes. But - apparently an individual cannot access your address from your license plate # - but they can access your name and driver's licence number! From there, it's not that big a step to finding an address, IMO. I think we should be :scared: !!! Particularly with all that is coming to light about 'chop shops' recently.

It seems quite possible that some shady types may have seen AG driving her Camaro, and decided she was an easy mark. Now, I wonder if you do request info thru the MOT about another person's license plate #, do you have to give your name? So would there be a traceable record of who made that request - and could LE track that? I hope so...

http://www.ipc.on.ca/images/Resources/num-25.pdf

Currently, the home address of drivers and vehicle
owners in Ontario is not released when vehicle
and driver record searches are conducted by
individuals. If you know the plate number of a
vehicle, you can find out the owner’s name and,
in most cases, the owner’s driver licence number.
Once you know the driver’s licence number, you
can find out the driver’s driving history.
It is
difficult to balance the apparent need for access
by third parties to information contained in the
Driver Licence Database and Vehicle Registration
Database with the need for an appropriate level
of privacy that is expected by the public. While
various organizations may be able to access your
personal information on the Ministry’s databases,
there are formal agreements in place that limit the
use and disclosure of this personal information
by these organizations. If an organization does
not follow the terms of agreement, the Ministry
can terminate it.

Sorry, if I am repeating, but I don't think LV lives at the address anymore either that AG visited. There is a different name at that address, however, it could be that the property has a rental apartment in it.

Turns out it was listed for sale last year, so presumably new owners by now.

Coincidently, Goggle image taken September 2012, shows a red Arctic Cat dune buggy hauler (or other vehicles) in a driveway across the street from former home of LV.

I work for a private investigations firm. We regularly obtain addresses from vehicle information - including licence plate and VIN numbers. We do it on the "up and up", but there are ways of running the searches that are not quite as kosher - especially if the person has the right connections.

From what I read in the info linked in my post above, a firm like yours enters into an agreement with MTO in order to access such info, including the address - is that right?

And do you know if a private citizen accessed info on another person if his/her name would be recorded?

Thx :)

About licence plates - I had an experience a few years ago. I parked my car and went banking/shopping. When I got back to the car there was a note under the windshield wiper saying 'I love this car. Is it for sale' and he left his phone number.

I did NOT phone the number; I just tossed the note. A few weeks later he showed up at our house and was looking at the car!! My husband and I came out and asked him HOW he got our address. He said ANYONE can access the car owner's info via the licence plate. I asked him (he seemed harmless; just a car freak) how much he knew about me, the car owner. He then STATED MY AGE!!

Now......that's a LOT of info one can get from a licence plate. And I don't have vanity plates; I just have a series of letters and numbers.

Something for all of us to think about.......seriously!!

The very fact that this woman's social circle was so carefully guarded by herself should narrow down any possibilities that exist within it...Otherwise, this is a random murder. Given that the killer seems to have known her movements, I strongly believe that he/she knew her. Two years have passed and LE has not been able to solve this crime. One would hope that they would want to release some additional information now that the case has gone completely stone cold!
