I'm going to have to go back and read the blog (tome?) because it's long and filled with small details.

Did JH and PK both comment about there not being any prescription meds in the house, including the bedroom? If so, for a "recluse" Audrey had quite a few people snooping all over her house.:scared:

AG: "so I don't think I've a fever"

I have always thought this was an awkward way to say this.

I wonder if AG always used contractions?

imo

ROS, speaking and writing are two different things IMO. I can understand that a seasoned teacher would say 'Gotta go shopping', 'Oooops, forgot my umbrella'. However in writing I think a teacher would be more precise just out of habit from teaching - 'I have to go shopping', 'I forgot my umbrella'.

Just the way I'm thinking of things......:twocents:

Social Networks

Regarding Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and other social networking or blog websites: Links may be used to direct posters to view something on a social networking page. But postings on social networking sites are not considered fact; they are rumor. Copying and pasting, or taking screen caps, directly from these pages is not allowed. Paraphrasing is okay. (Exception: If the Twitter or Facebook post belongs to a verified news station, it may be copied. But a link should still be provided.)

Also, social networking pages may only be linked if they are directly related to a case, i.e. the victim or suspect. We don't want to post to someone's mother, brother, employer, milkman, or postal carrier just because they know the main player. We also NEVER link to minor's pages (unless they are the victim). And be sure that the page actually belongs to the person being discussed. Do not link to someone if you are not 100% sure it is the correct person. And if a social networking is set to private and you get in the back way, you may not post what you find. Private means private!

I think we mostly can assume he was in the house cause of comment about meds not in the medicine cabinet not in her bedroom. Unless he was just making stuff up.

Query: why do we have so many suspects? None of whom really fit with the idea of a brutal attack with a "sexual component"? Obviously we never know what evil lurks in the hearts of men.....or women...... or teenagers....though so commonly men. But still on the face of it all the enticing financial stuff doesn't mesh with the sexual element. I am beginning to believe pretty strongly in that since I can see how it would throw off the investigation you can't expect Hamilton LE to be wildly imaginative. I am sure they mostly are looking at the financial stuff as peripheral expressions of normal human greed and need - maybe not - I hope not. If Hrab's comment is real and why wouldn't it be then I am sure they will be thinking...male sexual sadist.

Thinking the same thing about " male sadistic sexual offender" and as for writer Germaine G, posted about earlier, this article may offer some insight into the mind of one...

http://www.dogandlemon.com/articles/cars-other-dysfunctional-relationships

" The men who abuse cars do it because they cannot separate the idea of abuse from the concept of love.

The bullet-headed earring-wearer who brings his beaten-up GTX blasting down on my Mercedes, double-declutches, revs, flashes his lights and snarls obscenities because I am slowing up for the roundabout, and then guns the GTX through the closing gap between lorries, loves his car as well as he will ever love anything.

Love gives him the right to bully her and push her beyond endurance and take stupid risks with her until she breaks on a bend, flies through a fence and lands upside-down in the field. Then, he will patch her up and treat her reasonably for a day or two.

The scars on her bodywork are his love bites; when he has finished with her she will be good for nothing. Some men boast of totalling cars as others do of sexual conquests".

About the male sexual sadist aspect and the wounds Audrey suffered - I'm inclined to think that the 'sexual component' was below the waist. And PK said her pants were ripped. At the waistband, I think.

I hope Audrey didn't know any of this was happening to her. I hope she died quickly. How horrible.

Who did this..........

If it is true that AG picked up vitamins for her dogs on December 27, 2010 ...

- where did A drive, to pick the vitamins up?

- DC, DVM retired in 1994, and it was DC that she visited for these vitamins

- her dogs had a little run

- she hugged DC when she was leaving, as she always did

- but where was DC at this time ... his home or Mountainview Animal Clinic

I looked at Mountainview Animal Clinic in Google maps and imo, it is doubtful AG's dogs would have been able to have a run there, unless in the back of the clinic, but why would DC be at the clinic. Did he still work part time at his clinic?

AG drove somewhere to pick up these vitamins, so it would be interesting to look at the possible routes she may have taken on Google maps there and then back to her home, as well as any possible stops she may have made along the way, i.e. cigarettes, etc.

With the theory of AG being followed home, imo, it may have been during this trip, however, this does not fit with a stranger following A home, as how would a stranger know she lived alone?

also from the above link:

...many of Gleave's former students from Westdale have resented the fact that the media has portrayed Gleave as a childless spinster.

"She had over 2,000 kids that probably had more respect for her than they did for their own parents," said Burd.

Just stopping in as I was thinking of Audrey, as I always do at this time of year.
Thanks to all of you for keeping Audrey's thread alive.

I truly believe this case will be solved.

Happy New Year!

While I was at a gathering last night I was watching a group of smokers heading outside and it got me to thinking about when I used to smoke.

Smoking played a huge role in orchestrating who I met and the friendships I made. When the facts about the damaging effects of smoking were exposed and smoking reforms came in, smokers were segregated and prohibited from smoking indoors etc., and smoking became taboo. People became disdainful of smokers and there was a stigma associated with smoking. I for one started feeling ashamed of being a smoker, and hid it from my family/friends/kids. A lot of my friends quit or became "closet" or "social" smokers. I found that smokers started to kind of stick together and developed bonds and friendships (especially in workplaces) based on the habit we had in common.

So, as a young single mother AND a smoker, (and having moved around quite a bit) just about everywhere I lived, I found that other smokers in the neighbourhood were drawn to me, including “closet smokers”. They would find out I was a smoker and come over to “bum a cigarette” or hang out in the evening to sit outside and chat/gripe and have a smoke. Most of the closet smokers were either married with children, or still living with parents (or other family members). They were hiding their smoking from someone. My place was somewhere they could hang out and have a smoke without looking over their shoulder. In some cases, the ritual evening visits led to ongoing friendships, some of which are still going strong. I don’t smoke anymore but am friends with most of the smokers in my neighbourhood, and I know that the smokers and “closet smokers” my age (and older), still get together to smoke.

According to PK, LE took the "coffee/smoking" bench from the garage. Would they actually take the whole bench from the garage if they didn't have reason to believe there was evidence on it? Maybe when Audrey was murdered something was left behind on the bench. Maybe the bench was used in the murder?

I wonder if anyone in Audrey’s immediate neighbourhood was a “closet smoker” and found refuge smoking in her garage. Maybe they came around regularly to smoke, and a friendship ensued. That person wouldn’t necessarily be quick to announce this tie to Audrey because 1) It could incriminate them, and 2) Their smoking habit would be revealed to whoever they were hiding it from. Maybe they were there over the holidays hanging out in her garage having a smoke and a chat.

Has this been discussed? Do we know if anyone in Audrey's life/neighbourhood was also a smoker? Maybe someone "young and close" living in the area with their parents, or visiting home over the holidays.

When AG drove to Dr. DC's home to pick up the vitamins, if I have the correct address, it appears it would have been all country driving and according to Google maps, it would have been about 17 minutes one way.

To answer a question above - yes, we discussed at length the possibility of students/relatives coming home for the holidays. We are hoping LE followed up and questioned all "young and close" persons who may have been in Audrey's area during the holidays.

Wondering about the general mood in Audrey's neighbourhood these days.
Have people become extra vigilant about locking doors or wary of strangers, do they look at each other with suspicion, or has it brought the area's residents closer together?
Wonder who they all think did it?
Do any doubts linger about the person originally accused?

Happy New Year Folks!

I agree, "I've a fever" is so odd! Sounds like an old Englisher to me, not an educated teacher.
By now LE would have finger prints from her keyboard, if not the perp could have had gloves on, if he/she were thinking.... If.... The emails were in fact sent by someone other than Audrey.

Best to you all in 2014!

AG was at LV's on Boxing Day.

Regarding AG's email dated December 27, 2010 ...

I also found it odd that someone would say they had "cabin fever", when 24 hours had probably not even elapsed, since being at LV's home for supper.

It almost seems as though the killer did not know AG had been out on Boxing Day and maybe AG was trying to send a cryptic message.

Was "cabin fever" a code for I need help?

Do we know if PK responded to this email?

Then there is the soup ... homemade or a can? If homemade, was it made that morning of December 27th? If it was homemade and frozen, why not give it to AG before she left on December 26th and if it was a can of soup ... I'm sure AG had many cans of soup of her own!

Many aspects of this case make no sense!

Agree with everything you say. But just to make sure things stay as complicated as possible (LOL) I would have to leave the door open to the possibility of the email being from Audrey.....the goal being to keep everyone away and to make it seem she is taken care of. So she would be avoiding people for the most part but using the "sick" excuse was worried she would be tended to. The slightly "off" nature of the email might be because it is insincere and she is faking, just in the normal way people manage their affairs all the time.

Why? Idea would be she was meeting someone "special" (does not have to be romantic). This went awry or she was tricked into meeting her killer.

I remember there was a poster here that knew Audrey or at least knew of her old golf club and claimed there was someone Audrey did NOT want to see just before Christmas. Maybe we need to bring that back into things?

Also thinking of Rose Sharon's idea of her being followed. And thinking of their research of her going to the vet possibly AFTER LV's visit. She could have picked this person up for example in Ancaster or thereabouts and driven them herself into the garage.

Or awaited them of course. But her coat on....that has always been the problem and Rose Sharon's idea of her being followed (or I guess waiting for them outside in the cold) makes sense of this.

Do me know if weather conditions would have allowed LE to look for carprints other than Audrey's and P.K.'s?

If none then they have to be waiting for her or as per RS's excellent idea they have to follow her - or as I am suggesting she has to drive them to her house herself.
