I think Claroon may be referring to this:

" "Everyone we have talked to has been co-operative but there's a difference between being co-operative and telling the truth," she says.
Detectives continue working the case and receive occasional tips from the public.

They followed-up on a Crime Stoppers tip recently, and also on an anonymous and cryptic letter mailed to a Hamilton Spectator reporter that pointed the finger at two alleged suspects. Neither tip panned out.

Stewart says they have monitored information and theories on crime sleuthing social media websites. Most of it is far-fetched, but sometimes it's useful. "

Further to the above.... sounds like someone who is 'appearing' to be 'cooperative', may be felt to be not telling the truth? Hmm

my point was thinking about Dellen Millard's cryptic letters from jail on another case. Would like to compare them.

I think it was more likely a 'sleuther' suggesting a potential theory that was felt NOT to have been appropriately followed up on by LE.. which ended up leading nowhere... ie I'll bet that DM and MS have been brought forward as a tip/lead in the AG case, and that they've looked into it, to no avail (at least i sure hope so???) jmo

Well, here we are in December- bumping for Audrey with this likely,( but not necessarily imo.) unrelated sex assault, rbbm.

Hamilton police are looking for the public's help in identifying a suspect involved in a violent sexual assault where a woman was dragged into a downtown alley last weekend.
The suspect is described as a white man in his 40s or older. Police said he is approximately six-feet-tall with a thin build and a large beard. He was wearing a waist-length green jacket, tan pants and black work boots.

The victim — a woman in her 60s — did not know the man and went into a nearby building to visit someone.

After a "short period of time," she re-emerged from the building and was quickly dragged into a nearby alley and attacked around 2 p.m., police said.
Police do not believe it is tied to any other sexual assault cases.

Hi all --
Coming back to discussion of Millard and Smich (and his gang) as possible POIs:
here is my post #500 (page 34) from April 6 2016 (below). When there were early media suggestions that Millard could be involved in the disappearance of Laura Babcock, I wondered if he could also be involved in Sonia Varaschin's case -- only because of something I found in a social media site of one of his friends that seemed to me, at least, to directly reference Sonia's case. And then at the Bosma trial there was a receipt presented in evidence for a camaro that made me wonder about Audrey.... Here's the older post, anyway, fyi:
yes --
for what it's worth (again), testimony from the Tim Bosma trial today revealed that Millard orchestrated the theft of a Bobcat trailer with the help of some members of his posse. As FG points out, one member was dropped off in a rural area to be the lookout....
It seems preposterous -- but so is the murder of a beautiful Hamilton husband and father just for a diesel engine: *IS* it possible Audrey's murder was a chop-shop theft gone wrong?
The reason this is seeming less ridiculous to me is because one of the people identified by testimony today in relation to the Bobcat theft is the same person on whose social media account I found the pic that seemed SO STRIKINGLY to reference the boot profiled by LE in Sonia Varaschin's case with hashtag "freshtokill"; I have posted this info on her site (and did call it in to LE). Once upon a time this would all have seemed wholly farfetched -- and may still do for some of us here -- but now I really am left wondering, especially with allegations in relation to the disappearance of Laura Babcock and the death of WM. There was some reference to a camaro receipt in earlier testimony in the Bosma trial. What prosecution in that case suggests is that DM was planning to swap Tim Bosma's truck for the one he already had -- painting it red, and removing the windshield to lose the VIN. It likely was a chopshop op. So ...?
I was wondering about the camaro receipt which was never explained in court.

2Soccermom (sorry, I forgot to quote):
Audrey had the nice white Camaro and loved to let hear the powerful sound along the streets. So she didn't go unnoticed. And SS at Brantford wasn't too far away. He as MS and AM too seem to always have kept an eye out for valuable and usable things on their many ways they drove, retrieving all DM wanted (snacks, drinks, women, cars, drugs, etc.).
This makes sense so far, IMO.
Although I don't remember exactly, SS had also procured a Camaro for DM in a neighbouring state and brought the car over the border. We heard of a forum where SS talked about a Camaro he had to buy for his boss. Maybe, the receipt had been for this car? :dunno:
Sonia could have had contact to DM because he was also found on Dating sites (we saw a pic of him) and she certainly would have been his booty scheme with all her charm and optics and intelligence and adventurousness. Though I wouldn't see a motive why he should have murdered her. But the young male tenants Sonia felt disturbed by in her neighborhood might have been related to MS/DM, who knows. Perhaps revenge for calling LE sometimes and then gone bad because of drugs or her resistance? :dunno:
My P*I #1 I wouldn't let go for the time being (in case Audrey).
Does somebody know whether JV (my P*I #2 or so, maybe had a connection to DM too) got released in Florida already? He got 8 years in 2013.

It is such a tragedy Audrey was killed nearly seven years ago and nobody has been arrested.

Yes, it's devastating to think such a brutal killer (likely) walks free among us. Or -- is it possible that DM and MS could be involved? FG, yes: I hope LE has been mapping how early DM began planning "missions"; we know DM started messaging about stealing the bobcat in Oct. 2012. While it may not be likely it's certainly not out of the realm of possibility. I hope LE is going back to check carefully.

Can't believe it is now 7 years? wow. And nothing.

I wonder if the monster Adam Strong in the Rori Hache dismemberment case could have any relation to Audrey's murder? I know it's a really long shot. But he was angry at his mother (indicated in his FB posts) and kept parts of his murder victim in his apartment; I recall the news reports that Audrey's murderer retained a "trophy" (and there were lots of rumours, now expunged and which i don't really intend to resurrect except as might support inquiry here, which some posters felt showed specific hatred of women/mothers. Audrey as far as we know was never a mother, of course.) AS's fetish interest in hucow may have some relevance if those early rumours have any ring of truth. Anyway -- again, I think this is not a huge lead but I do hope LE will follow up with it. Audrey deserves justice and it is such a loooong while coming.

Is it true that AG's house was demolished by the new owners shortly after they purchased it? I had not heard that until just very recently?

I remember well! :)

https://www.thespec.com/news-story/5809219-who-killed-audrey-gleave-/

At the end of a long laneway off Indian Trail, the house has been renewed, renovated. A young family appears to live here. A dog barks inside.

On Facebook there said someone the home became torn down by the new owners.

Thank you, that is what I remembered also.. that it had been purchased and renovated, *not* demolished. Funny how rumors get started... and fester..

I wanted to reply but it didn't work. See my answer #638. :)

I've been following these threads with an interest. I know PK as an acquaintance from several years ago. He probably does not remember me. I am continuing to hold out hope that the police will catch whoever was responsible for this heartless crime. The statement that stands out the most to me from reading all these threads is "young and close". I wonder if the police looked at the Ferguson's son who lived across the street.

I have a feeling the police have a very good idea of who killed Audrey but lack the evidence to get a conviction. They are probably hoping that person slips at some point giving them that extra ammunition to lay charges.
