Well, I have to put it out there.......
Christine Jessop's murderer Calvin Hoover looks to have lived in Waterdown right around the time of AG's death. About 30 kms away. I base this on him being listed in his wife's Nov. 2009 obituary as being from Waterdown. Likely nothing, but when the wheels get spinning, it's hard not to share it.

Yes, my mind went there too for a brief moment. Maybe it's my eyes, but I thought it said Hoover had lived in Watertown. (Wherever that is, and if it even exists? Isn't there a Watertown in USA?)
The two murders don't seem related in any way at all, other than both were stabbed, and proximity, if in fact Hoover was in Waterdown. Just like in CJ's case, I believe AG's killer is right there in front of them, close to the case/victim. Another case of unfortunate LE tunnel vision lost a pile of time and potential evidence, imho. Hope they can get something of value soon.

It was a spelling error. Waterdown is correct.

Hi Shaun ..... at one time I would not think it a good idea to link the two killings

Today ... I am not so sure ... because I just found out about Jessops body when found .... multiple stabbings .... head cut off ... clothing cut with a knife .... sexual component

Other than the beheading ... the rest is very similar to Audrey ... the work of "A Monster"

I said so in Jessop's thread post # 655
Canada - Christine Jessop, 9, Queensville, Ont, 3 Oct 1984 - #2 *killer identified*

Gruesome details here Who murdered Christine Jessop? With Guy Paul Morin cleared, police tackle a fresh probe

Investigators have also referred to Audrey's killing as gruesome.

So maybe there is a link .... maybe not so far-fetched ... would be interesting to see if Hoover & Audrey ever interacted.

Unfortunate that AG good friend and beneficiary didn't use some of her inheritance to create such a reward, imo.

Audrey left everything to her...where is she? She should be the voice for Audrey.
There is DNA from the crime....I can’t help thinking they could possibly connect it to a relative of Lynn’s.
Police need to follow the money.. they know who benefitted....

Where is it reported that LE has DNA from this crime?

DNA exonerated the homeless man they originally arrested...and had to release.

In my mind, it was in reverse.. they charged the man because he was a known "odd guy", who had a knife in public, and got reported, then was found to have been staying not that far from AGs home at the time... he spent some 6 months in jail until evidence came back to show they had nothing.

If AG had been killed with his knife (it was said she was stabbed to death), her DNA would've been found under forensics examination of the man's knife, but it wasn't.

Therefore I have always thought that LE thought they had the murder weapon which could be linked to AG, rather than DNA from the scene that could be linked to her killer.

It only makes sense however, that there would've been DNA of some kind at AGs house, but the issue may be that any DNA found may have an explanation for it being there (ie murdered by someone who'd been at her garage/home at some point). Jmo

Apparently there is something about a shoe print found at AGs home, hence LE checking the shoes of her handyman friend, and even suggesting he could've been wearing someone else's shoes... I wonder if LE has ever questioned her oven installer and asked for his shoes? Not perhaps so much as to accuse him, but rather, to identify the reason for the shoeprint being at her home? (Unless of course the shoe had stepped in the blood after the murder!)

We're quickly coming up to TEN YEARS since her murder. I think of AG regularly, hoping they will get a break in her case. :(

this is a snippet from the article.....it doesn’t say cleared with DNA...just cleared with forensics...
Just to clarify my post...sorry.

That would be great if they did have DNA that was known to be from the killer since they could perform the same genetic familial DNA testing responsible for cracking some cases recently. I'm thinking they don't have that however, since from reports, they still seemed to be pursuing the handyman even though he stated he also wasn't a match for whatever they were comparing against?

Afaik, LE found some things like a saw on AG's property. Maybe, it had DNA on it?

May Audrey's killer be revealed, charged and found accountable. Her murder remains a scary one. IMO, she must have known and trusted the person who ultimately took her life. And in such a foul fashion. May Justice prevail soon, Justice for Audrey.

Where is it reported that LE has DNA from this crime?

In The Hamilton Spectator:
“All the while, he and his devastated family maintained his innocence.

Now that the charges are dropped - after DNA evidence didn't match Scott - they are weighing whether to launch a lawsuit, said lawyer Charles Spettigue.”

As in almost every case, as the wording differs from report to report, things get twisted and bent.
Laurie’s lawyer stated outside the court that the police had “no DNA, no fingerprints”. May have meant none at all, may have meant of his defendant, may not have even meant what he said.
Unedited Video documentation is the only pure truth in most instances, sadly.

I've always thought since 2011, when Scott was released from jail, that LE had DNA indeed and it didn't match Scott.
