''The Barrie Police Service, led by detectives from the Major Crime/Homicide Unit and supported by Investigative Services, the Forensic Identification Unit, Operational Support, and Operational Services, has been conducting a complex investigation that began earlier this year following a report of a missing person.

This investigation has continued to expand and has involved extensive searches at multiple locations, including a large wooded area in Barrie bordered by Victoria Street, John Street, and Anne Street South; a rural property on Yearly Road near Cardwell Lake Road in Huntsville; and a residence in North Simcoe County.

The searches have led investigators to recover evidence, including suspected human remains which have been transported to the Centre of Forensic Sciences located in Toronto.

Much of the detailed forensic examination of outdoor properties in recent weeks occurred after the primary suspect in this ongoing investigation was identified and arrested in Midland, Ontario, on August 2nd. The 52-year-old male remains in custody and is facing 19 criminal charges, including multiple counts related to the careless use, unauthorized possession, and unsafe storage of firearms, as well as possession of a firearm with ammunition, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and flight from a peace officer. He has not yet appeared for a bail hearing.

In the days following the arrest of the accused, the investigation has continued to progress. Information obtained and confirmed through witness interviews has identified Robert Ladouceur as the individual responsible for the deaths and dismemberment of a 45-year-old William ‘Blake’ Robinson and a 41-year-old David ‘Kyle’ Cheesequay.

Today, detectives from the Barrie Police Service Major Crime/Homicide Unit have arrested and further charged the accused with:
  • Murder (Second Degree)
  • Murder (First Degree)
  • Indignity to a Dead Body (2 counts)
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Possession of Controlled Substance – Schedule I – Cocaine
  • Possession of Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Schedule I – Cocaine
  • Possession of Controlled Substance – Schedule I – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Schedule I – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Controlled Substance – Schedule I – Fentanyl
  • Possession of Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Schedule I – Fentanyl
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.
The accused is scheduled to appear tomorrow at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Barrie for the purpose of a bail hearing.

Due to the ongoing nature and sensitivity of this investigation, there will be no further information disclosed until Tuesday, August 26, 2025.''

Thank you LadyL, much appreciated.
I checked the Barrie court docket today, and Rob Tattoo was to have a video date today for bail hearing. Don’t know anything more, but am hoping LE will address missing Autumn Shaganash. I wonder if these three knew her or have information about her.
Cheesequay has a prior from 2021 arrest for impaired by drugs, possession Cheesequay

Robert Ladouceur, 52,
''Two weeks ago, cops began evacuating the homeless encampment as a result of a red-ball investigation. The results of the probe would not bode well for Robinson or Cheesequay.

Late Thursday, Barrie Police broke their silence on a long and twisting probe into what had started as a missing person’s investigation and morphed into murder. Detectives had arrested a suspect in the two men’s disappearances.

He is Robert “Tattoo Rob” Ladouceur, 52. The accused is well-known to cops and had been arrested earlier this month in Midland after the homeless encampment had been cleared.

Cops say the investigation stretched from a rural property in Huntsville to a north Simcoe County residence.''

I'm still laughing, .... only in regards to the article's writing style. I felt like I was reading a case written by Jocko Thomas at the Star. (he was one in a million). But I did learn one thing.... what a red ball was!! It was a refreshing report (for a gruesome serious case)from the usual tired out reporters. Thanks for posting, and sorry for my dark humour.

A few write ups on internet re personalities of these two deceased men. Both with addiction issues, homelessness, and kindness. This approved site Cheesequay has the write up of David "Kyle" Cheesequay, from BC, and moved to Barrie. Both were known to accused, and David had a gf Karrie, but no mention of she has been located or part of investigation.
No update on release of the Huntsville crime scene held by OPP/Barrie Police

Recent info re possible dates of murders CTV

''Court documents obtained by CTV News show the alleged murder of William Robinson, 45, took place on Jan. 18, with the dismemberment of a body occurring between Jan. 18 and Feb. 8.

Documents also show the second alleged murder, that of David Cheesequay, 41, took place on July 28, with the dismemberment of a body occurring between July 28 and Aug. 2.

Cheesequay was an active member of the skate community in Barrie. The manager of Souldiers Barrie, a Toronto Street skate shop, Dan Bokma, said he was a great guy to be around. “He was, you know, nice to whoever came around. Always happy to, you know, show somebody who was new to the park, you know, how to do a trick or something like that. Definitely very approachable, very friendly. Always had a smile on his face. Generally just always fun to be around.”

So the three scenes have now all been released. Dying to know what they found if anything else.
If this Tattoo Rob killed end of Jan, and end of July, and dismembered both victims,, who else has he killed? Were they also dismembered? That's a pretty big step to turn from "killer", to "killer who dismembers".
I know the definition of serial is 2 or more, or 3 and more,Definition of Serial but he could be if others haven't been found as yet?
Where did he live or frequent, who's missing?
Did he know Bruce McArthur?? Does he belong to any "groups" of like minded people?

Barrie PD news conference summary.... most of it "I can't comment on that". Nothing new, two isolated cases. Remains found in homeless camp and Huntsville scene. Accused denied bail. All three knew each other.
One thing query new re Barrie PD.... they have a Homicide and Missing Person's page within web site, with mini podcasts. Barrie PD
When asked by present media if Autumn Shaganash was r/t case, they stated "no"
Also stated "def of serial killer is three or more, so this isn't a serial killer".
News media will be found on Barrie PD Y tube page.

'Police say the man who allegedly killed and dismembered two people in Barrie, north of Toronto, this year lived in the same encampment as the victims, and the murders were targeted.

"What began as a missing person investigation in January this year has grown into one of the largest investigations Barrie police have ever had," said Sgt. Brett Carlton at a news conference Tuesday.'

''Ladouceur and the victims lived together at one point at an encampment in a wooded area of Barrie located between Victoria Street, John Street and Anne Street S., police said.''

'' They said they found the suspected remains of the victims at the encampment and in Huntsville.''

I notice Ministry of Environment or Barrie City has detected large reading of E-coli in creek leading from encampment area into Lake Simcoe. While I do know this is an ongoing issue with creeks and streams etc, it certainly enlightens the issues of encampments even further.
Looking on google maps, I notice there is a creek that runs towards lake from that area. If they are doing water testing, maybe they should be checking for bone fragments or teeth in the creek bed or the outflow area at Lake Simcoe. As strange as it may seem, you can't be too sloppy investigating the possible. Barrie news

Garbage overflowing a homeless encampment near the downtown in Barrie, Ont., which is undergoing major cleanup efforts. (Obtained by CTV News)

''On Tuesday morning, the mayor declared a state of emergency aimed at addressing encampments across the city, pointing to growing safety concerns, damage to municipal property, and the ongoing toll of the opioid crisis.

“Barrie residents have had enough,” Nuttall stated, adding the city would support those seeking help but would not allow encampments to continue on public property. The mayor said the City would “reclaim” its streets, park and public spaces.

The mayor cited a series of disturbing events as the tipping point. Over the summer, a double homicide and dismemberment investigation forced the shutdown of one of the city’s largest encampments, leaving behind millions of dollars in cleanup costs and hazardous waste.

Around the same time, city testing revealed troubling E. coli levels in Dyment’s Creek, which runs through the encampment and to Kempenfelt Bay, that were five times higher than levels already too dangerous to swim and bath in. Despite being notified, Nuttall said the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit didn’t attend the site, adding to his frustration that the city has been left to manage the fallout on its own.''

WHOA........ the Hon Sylvia Jones should be contacted, and notified of Simcoe County Health Dept's reluctance to do their job.????
I don't blame the taxpayers of Barrie for being fed up. I've had occasion to go thru Barrie and there are spots that are really bad. Guess that's the pains of a growing city.

Authorities found crossbows, knives, a flare gun and a whack of cash in one of the tents in a squatters' camp city in Barrie.

''Accustomed to being tolerated, coddled and serviced, a sudden declaration of a state of emergency by Barrie’s mayor means hundreds of squatters will soon be run out of town. In fact, city workers started handing out eviction notices Tuesday that gives long-term homeless people living in tents around Barrie 48 hours to get out of Dodge. ''
''Nothing can help William “Blake” Robinson, 45, and 41-year-old David Kyle Cheesequay who were murdered in January and July, respectively, but discovered in August. Charged with first and second-degree murder in the alleged dismembered of the two slain men is 52-year-old Robert Ladouceur, who lived in the same camp as the two victims. The charges against him have not been tested in court.''
