It seems it has been reported (at least) two ways, and when put in context, at least in the first example, it seems it is regarding quantity/number of people. Is this from Gomes' press conference, and I wonder what she actually said?:
"Police have compiled witness statements so far from 127 people and have a "significant list" of people still to talk to – including prospective buyers who visited the home with realtors in the weeks before the deaths."
Deaths of Barry and Honey Sherman ruled a 'targeted' double homicide
and
  • "Police have interviewed 127 individuals so far.
  • Toronto police have a “significant” list of people who gained entry to the Sherman home using a lock box for real estate agents"
What we've learned about the Sherman murders - CityNews Toronto

What she actually said is a good question. IMO by adding the word “significant” in any context in a statement can draw many conclusions.
So could be...”The police have a significant list of 127 individuals Including real estate agents and their buyers”. I don’t know, but I can see more agents in the home than buyers.

I listened to the press conference and my foggy memory leads me to recall her comment was from the Q&A that followed. But towards the end sometimes the televised audio was difficult to hear clearly, particularly the question being asked.

I think Warmington has been recognized as the reporter who has taken the most interest in this case.

I noticed something while regoogling media stories. Is it just me or had anyone else noticed in the various articles he’s written he consistently refers to December 14th as the date of the Shermans’s death? I don’t know how I missed that, I guess I just assumed the homicides occured shortly after BS arrived home.

We know Honey was found still wearing the same clothes as earlier that same day so the initial interaction very likely occurred the evening of Wed, Dec 13th before she went to bed. I refuse to let my imagination enter gruesome territory but beyond the evening hours of Dec 13th until some time on Dec 14th.....that’s quite a few hours.

“......But neighbours in the area tell The Toronto Sun that officers have been politely asking for video surveillance files from in and around Dec. 14 — the day the Shermans are believed to have died from ligature neck compression....”
WARMINGTON: Sherman investigation expands to neighbouring streets

“........The couple are believed to have died in the indoor pool area of the $6.9-million home on Dec. 14
WARMINGTON: Someone could have entered Shermans’ home, lawyer says

“.......Since the suspicious “ligature neck compression” deaths of philanthropists Barry and Honey Sherman on Dec. 14, 2017, every imaginable investigative tool and technique has been deployed at their at 50 Old Colony Road mansion....”
WARMINGTON: Sherman mansion security underscores Toronto Police staffing issues

Just guessing, but it may be because they can't pinpoint the time of death to before / after midnight on the 13th / 14th. The bodies were discovered on the 15th, if I recall correctly, and had been deceased for at least a day ... so, it may be the death certificates were dated Dec. 14.

The successful realtor's that I know are very driven individuals, who seem to be working constantly. I find it strange and unusual that a well known Toronto Realtor, highly successful, would obtain a 7 million dollar listing, in a fairly hot Toronto real estate market, and then take off to Florida and leave the showings to an assistant. The realtor's I know would stay in town, trying to sell the house before Xmas. After all, the listing was recent, and there is a significant list of people that had viewed the house, indicating potential buyer interest. Leaving town doesn't reconcile with the behaviour I have seen with agents that I know .

Yes the bodies were discovered on Friday, Dec 15th. Just by the way he’s written it various times, Dec 14th, as opposed to “during the night of Dec 13th” or something like that the Thursday determination seems quite definite. The autopsy was completed by the time of Warmington’s writings but he probably wouldn’t have access to the actual death certificate but much like anyone prominent in the media business, I’m certain he has established connections. He’s not a reporter who tends to write fluff. I wonder who was his source?

I have never agreed more! Her conduct was very bizarre. Over the last couple of days here talking about the lock boxes, the security camera so called malfunction has had me really doubting her. That multi-million dollar property should have been in 100% working order and pristine for viewing. Last night I Google searched her. I checked images of her. Her ratings are below the midpoint. So I don’t know.

FWIW, at the time this occurred, I understood that it WAS the realtor who found them, NOT an assistant. She is a good friend of Honey and her sister Mary, ratings might not matter for that reason. This idea that she had gone to Florida, wasn't in town, etc, I take with a grain of sale. A 'source' told me, at length, how upset she was to find the bodies and what the initial thoughts were about the circumstances. I trust the 'source' who told me about it.

Interesting, maybe she doesn't want it publicly known she found the bodies, so invented an assistant. I've assumed that the realtor was the source of all the details about the scene when they were found.

This is the only verbiage that I have read or seen posted on this case. This is the only information that can be substantiated.

“At 10:30 a.m., two real estate agents and a couple interested in purchasing the house arrived. The house was listed for sale by agent Judi Gottlieb. Gottlieb was away in Florida, and an other agent went in her place. The other agent present represented the prospective purchasers.”

Here is a statement from the media where Gottlieb discloses her friendship with the Sherman’s.

“The Sherman’s were very dear friends of mine for many, many years and we’re all in shock,” the agent wrote in an email in response to media requests for a comment on the unusual timing of putting up the property for sale, National Post reports. “More than this, I’m not prepared to talk about.”

I am sorry I am not able to post this link. I am not sure why I am having the difficulty. It is from the Epoch times. A basic Google Search will find the article above quoted.

There’s a couple other versions of what apparently occured on Dec 15th but none have included named sources. Any one of the three reports could be correct but probably not all, or it could be another that we’ve not heard. I can understand why the listing realtor isn’t speaking out during the ongoing investigation because she’ll become an important witness when charges are eventually laid and the case goes to trial (hopefully sooner than later).

“......A real estate agent, who was selling the couple’s house, went to the home and made the grisly discovery after she was unable to contact them to make an appointment for a showing.....”
Murder-suicide suspected in deaths of Toronto billionaire and wife

“.......A relative, who asked not to be identified, said a real estate agent, preparing for an open house, had discovered the two bodies in the large home's basement Friday morning.....”
Billionaire Apotex founder Barry Sherman and wife found dead in Toronto home

Thank you! The link I am having trouble with was the disclosure from Gottlieb that she had for many many years been very dear friends with the Sherman’s. The link substantiates the friendship, not heresay.
Also I am unsure if either of these links have been posted my apologies if they have been. They show that Gottlieb was a Charity fundraiser for both health and the Jewish foundation. So personally I am attempting to form my own opinion that the friendship could have also revolved around these Charitable interests.

My apologies, then my reply should follow to this post and three versions of what might’ve occurred on Dec 15th with respect to a realtor’s discovery.

Personally I appreciate keeping those early reports reposted. I am still thinking about the list that is of “significance” containing 127 people. The questionable performance of the security system. The questionable security of the “lock box”. And I added Gottlieb last night. Maybe something to it, maybe not.

That is not reassuring. My hubby was working with an FBI agent about a work issue about 10 years ago. My husband had gone to the airport in another city to pick up my son. He stayed in a low cost motel. He threw the key card in the basket on the desk.

About a month later the bank called and asked if our credit card was missing. Nope.

The FBI agent said at that time all of our info was on the key card. Thieves had made a new card using our info.

Maybe hotel key cards are different now, but the FBI guy said he always cuts his up and throws it away.

Those were old fashioned cards I can assure you! Having worked in management in many of the top hotel chains, nothing personal is on your room keycard. The room number and check out date is the only thing imprinted on the card.

When you arrive at the hotel and the front desk clerk pulls a prepared packet out for you, it is the same thing - only the room number and check out date are on the card. Most hotels like to prepare the incoming guests packets early in the day.

That is good news!

What do you think about the lockbox? Can someone retrieve info from that application?

I was outdated by 5 years to the newest lock box that is now used by the US Board of Realtors. Here is a link to the present lock box system. It would be interesting to find what the Canadian Board uses.
