On August 12, 1987, the skeletal remains of a man were found near the Franz Run on Whistler Mountain in British Columbia. He may have been from South Africa or the United States. It is estimated that he may have gone missing a year to three years prior and may have been despondent at the time.''

I find Gentry a very interesting possibility. When I read of the UID's gun being a WW1 weapon, I instantly thought "who's walking around in 1987 with a weapon from the early 1900s? " (Someone interested in antiques?) William Veith, one of Gentry's Michigan victims that he was in a relationship with, owned a rare coin shop and some coins and jewels were missing from the store. Possibly Gentry had a penchant for antique collecting? Even though the UID died 4 years after the Michigan murders, the coin shop might also explain the South African rand bill.

Gentry was born in 1953 (so 34 in 1987); he had long brown hair and was 5'7, 154 lbs.

This is really interesting... I imagine he has a familial DNA sample available. Wonder if it would be worth contacting someone on this.
