Right, like @zecats just posted above your post.
IMO they have to have a specific vehicle in mind or there’d be no point in viewing video.
Hopefully they were able to get sufficient footage from numerous sources.
Dash cams only store for a limited time according to another poster.
Or looking for horse trailers: they're never common, possibly less so in January.

RCMP resume search for missing cowboy - Merritt Herald
“Crews are currently scouring Nicola Ranch, where the cowboy was the manager since November, for clues.”

Hope they find some.

From your link, regretfully no new info but yes, me too, hoping the search will prove fruitful.

“Now that the snow has melted, the search for Mr.Tyner is resuming today,” Sgt. Janelle Shoihet wrote to the Herald in an email. She added there is no new information to report in relation to the investigation.

“It remains active and ongoing and a priority for both the Southeast District Major Crime Unit and the Merritt Detachment,” she said...”

'Numerous resources' deployed as RCMP resume search for missing Merritt cowboy

The search is back on for Ben Tyner, a cowboy who went missing near a Merritt-area ranch nearly three months ago.

Sgt. Janelle Shoihet of the RCMP said in a news release Wednesday that "numerous resources" were being used to find Tyner now that the snow has melted.

“We ended the search due to unfavourable weather conditions after a week in January, so they are going back to the area in hopes we will locate Ben," she said.

With spring melt, search for Merritt-area rancher Ben Tyner resumes

Repeat link but video broadcast has interesting search info.

Search is at a neighboring ranch on Monck Road about 1 km from Nicola Ranch where Ben was employed as manager. LE is doing a grid search and turning over soil in the process. Road is blocked off for searching.

@Satchie horse trailers are not common in the area? I’m surprised, with all the ranches and ag’.
There’s some great riding to be done there, for sure.

I think they'd stand out, the vast majority of the traffic on those highways is just passing thru: trucks, cars, and semis-
lots and lots of transport trucks. Local traffic is a minor component, horse trailers even fewer.

But the traffic along 97C would be limited to locals, I think. I doubt people would use that route unless they lived along there (very few) or possibly as a scenic route to the small community of Logan's Lake

Thanks!
I’m glad they are scouring NR!
I’ve said many times, I think this will end right where it started. At NR.

@Trudie I think you may be right. Curious though about searching the other ranch? What’s that about?

From your link:

We're going to go back and start looking at the places that we started at," explains, Sgt. Shoihet, "Particularly the Nicola Ranch. See what that leads us to and then make determinations after we have exhausted all the opportunities there."

While on scene, CFJC Today saw more than 20 officers turning over soil and searching fields in the area on foot, while the police helicopter got a look from above.

"RCMP are out there. They're being supported by the tactical troupe, police dog services, air services are also out there, investigators from the Major Crime Unit, and then the Merritt RCMP Detachment."

Sgt. Shoihet says police are still hoping for any dash cam footage from January 26th, and ask for anyone with information to turn it over to investigators at the Southeast District Major Crime Unit, or Merritt RCMP.

Go LE! Sounds like the evidence they collected coupled with interviews provided them with much needed info.
Now they want dash cam footage specifically for 01/26.

Yes, I agree. So wonderful to know the search seems to be narrowed down to a large, but specific area.
Fingers crossed.
I hope Ben’s family are well, this has to be good news for them.
I wondered if they’d end up bringing in a PI from Wyoming. Who knows, they still might. I would if I was not receiving updates & felt LE to becslack in their investigation. Jmo, of course.

Good to see you @cybervampira
Better to have news on this case.
I’m wondering if mud/dirt samples taken from a variety of trucks & trailers are leading searchers to water? Maybe Nicola Lake?

From your link - “Today, (April 10), RCMP were scouring a neighbouring property along Monck Park Road, just down from the Nicola Ranch.”

What do you make of that? According to the above and a reporter on the ground in the video in zecats post below, today the search is at a neighbouring ranch.

I’m a bit unsure why one news anchor was broadcasting about (and seemingly from) a neighboring ranch, while quotes from LE state they are searching for clues at Nicola Ranch.

When googling Monck Park Rd, it runs along the northern shore of Nicola Lake. Any ideas of what other ranches are there? NR is located there correct?
Just maybe clues begin at NR and carry over or pass through adjoining properties. JMO

ETA Could Ben be in that lake? Or was it frozen over in late January.

Ze, I think NR May have banned media from entering their property. Just MOO....no link.
Remember, the owner (in the 1990s owned 1200 parcels, previously linked article), Nicola Ranch appears to me to own property that is not actually part of the ranch but is referred to as NR due to ownership. Again, moo.

From post 784 @cybervampira

She confirmed Wednesday that officers from the Merritt RCMP will join forces with the Southeast District Major Crimes Unit, police dog services, air assets and the underwater recovery team in the renewed search.

IMO police have explicit info with supporting evidence to bring in the dog, aircraft & dive team. They ain’t playing.
Enough time has passed for forensics to be back, imo.
The decoy logging road appears to be of no interest. Jmo
Again, someone saw something is what I think. Headlights in a field, tire tracks or something odd.
It is simple to travel from ranch to ranch. Wire cutters come in very handy, if there’s no gate.
