Canada - Brampton, ON Gunman loose after Peel police officer, civilian shot 17/10/15

"A Peel Regional Police officer and a civilian are in hospital Saturday after both were shot in Brampton overnight.

Investigators were still searching early Saturday morning for the gunman.

Police spokesman Const. Thomas Ruttan said the officer was shot around 10:20 p.m. after he was called to check out a building on Stokes Road. The call did not come in to police as a shooting"

"The officer is in serious but stable condition, and the civilian has been rushed to a trauma centre in critical condition.

Police are searching for a suspect in the areas of Stokes Rd., Chinguacousy Rd. and Queen St.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous, and police are asking people to avoid the area as the investigation continues."
