Truck driver wonders if cheating led to Humboldt crash

Truck driver wonders if cheating led to Humboldt crash - 660 NEWS

articles like this are absolutely rediculous and pointless without knowing anything about the crash,

i might as well write an article saying "did a flying bee cause the humboldt crash?"

and then go on in the article to describe how the driver might have been trying to swat a bee away from his face in his truck, and that might have caused the crash

Behind the scenes clip from the NHL awards. How those young men held it together on stage after hearing the introduction video and the coach's wife speak is beyond me. They are very special young men, but obviously still very fragile. What they saw and heard on April 6th will haunt them forever. Humboldt Broncos visit NHL Awards

Fair enough .... but such consideration are exactly what police will be investigating .... there are prescribed rest times and drive times in the industry .... as well as checking the thoroughness of qualifications for transport licenses etc ..... get around some professional drivers and they will tell you some of those immigrant drivers cannot read or write or speak the English language yet they somehow were able to pass all the examinations.

I have taken those tests and they are not easy. As a matter of fact I failed the first time ..... and I have an excellent command of the English language , a good 40 years of driving experience including large trucks , and am a qualified helicopter pilot , (yet found the truck-transport exams more difficult) . Hope that makes sense. Thanks.

I'm still tearing up. Just saying.

Sometimes life just sucks. Sometimes when life sucks, some people step forward and turn into leaders.
I expect great things from Kaleb Dahlgren. I expect great things from the rest of the surviving members of the team (even if it is little things behind the scenes).

Bless them all.

Approaching 3 months now with no findings, or announcement of the cause. No corrective/preventative action on the intersection and the nearby roads by authorities that I am aware of. God forbid another accident happens there in the meantime. All very curious, and frankly getting increasingly disturbing IMO.

In between preparing for a flight to Philadelphia and going over floor plans, Michelle Straschnitzki watched a video of her son, Ryan, slowly take his first steps since the Humboldt crash.

“It was really emotional for me to watch. It was good and very exciting to see and just to see the smile on his face,” Michelle said. “Also, as a parent it rocks you a little bit.”

Well done Ryan you’re doing great.

I share all your concerns.

this is only the second reported accident at the intersection in over 20 years,

when you take into consideration how many vehicles pass through that intersection every single day, the intersection seems pretty damn safe to me!

there is no fault on the roads or signs here, and no changes need to be made

22 deaths in 20 years. One per year on average. But it’s safe?

Respectfully I couldn’t disagree more. Twenty two people have lost their lives and these people had families who are heartbroken and are struggling to cope every day. Other people have been left disabled for life. It wouldn’t be right to say they don’t matter and not enough people have died or been severely injured to make any changes. If improvements can be made to prevent the Humboldt crash then they should be. Doing nothing is not an option the 16 people who died in the crash cannot die in vain.

that may be true....however, that doesn't automatically mean the intersection is unsafe, or there is something wrong with the intersection, the intersection didn't cause the accident

thats an absolutely rediculous comment,

so if all those 22 people survived the accidents, the intersection would be considered to be safe? and nobody would be complaining?

you need to judge safety on the accidents....not the outcome of them

It’s clear there is likely an issue with people stopping at the stop sign at the junction when required so I think it is fair to suggest some kind of action needs to be taken to ensure drivers do stop. Traffic lights, rumble strips, lowering the speed limit and clear signage would help a lot. A roundabout would be preferable but obviously that would be more costly. I hope locals demand something is done. I don’t want more people to die or be seriously injured in the years to come at this junction.

how did you come to this conclusion? cause i only know of one vehicle in over 20 years that didn't stop when required, and for all we know it could have been mechanical failure
