Calgary police continue search for woman who went missing in February

A woman reported missing in late February remains to be seen, and Calgary police continue to seek public help.

''A woman reported missing in late February remains to be seen, and Calgary police continue to seek public help.
Chelsea Davidenas, 29, was last seen on Feb. 17, and her family has tried to contact her to no avail.
Police made a call for help at the beginning of March, and since then, they have taken “several investigative steps” to find her, but have no updates on Davidenas’ whereabouts.
“At this time, we haven’t been able to confirm Chelsea’s last known location and are continuing to ask the public for help,” a news release reads.''

Something made them worry about her and to say what they said.
Quoting from above, "last seen on Feb. 17," is indeed frightening, and what her parents said is chilling. Hoping for the best for her and her parents. SMH.

This is challenging to understand. I wonder whether the family has some ideas about where she normally spent time. Possibly taken against her will - to where and for what purpose? Is there concern that she is no longer alive? Looking for a living person?

She was working as a housekeeper. I hope that angle has been explored….could she have had a problem with a housekeeping client? Was she in a neighborhood or area that was not well known to her?

Something more has to happen before the public can help. There is no known last location. No information about what she was wearing. Current photo and hair colour? No known locations. No vehicle.

Any location as a starting point helps. Where she worked, how she normally dressed (coat, shoes), where she socialized.

Not reported missing until nearly 2 weeks after she was last seen - seems safe to assume that "work" did not report her missing. Links upthread indicate that she worked as a cleaner for a general contractor. That job might mean a different location every day, and not showing up might mean the contractor sent a different cleaner. No one noticed that she was not around for roughly 10 days. Why is that? Who were her friends on Feb 17 - the ones who didn't notice that she vanished?

If she were to leave the city against her will, what direction is most likely? If she's not alive, where are they looking for bones? For example, if she lived in the SE quadrant of a city of 1.4 million, chances are she is East or SE of the city limits.

What digital info is available? What do we know about her location and from her cell phone?

Not sure what kind of construction projects she and her crew worked on, but because during construction, trades are required to clean up after themselves, I believe CD did final cleaning (happens just before or during punch list work).

I hope LE are interviewing as many finish trade workers on the last 3-4 projects she and her crew worked. Finish trades would typically be any finishing up flooring and base, doing touch-up paint, installing last of ceiling tile, doing fixture trim out, completing fire alarm devices and testing, adjusting door hdwe, doing HVAC system test and balance, trimming out IT, and possibly installing systems furniture

There could be only 15-20
finish on a very small project, up to several hundred on large office buildings or hotels.

Since doing individual interviews would probably be impractical, speaking to a large group of finish trade workers say, right before lunch break might get the word out; hand out flyers, provide basic info, and ask that if anybody met or knows CD, and also knows of any conflicts or relationships to please contact LE.

Maybe she cleans new builds once all construction is complete. Trades do clean up their own mess to a degree but builders hire cleaners to actually make new homes brand spanking new when all the work is done.

I'm not sure what to think about the delay in reporting her missing and also the bit about the sighting at YYC...

Moo...when I was doing construction clean, it is mostly lots drywall n wood dust n just shining the place up. We did work while painting and finishing was still going on. Do not think this is important information, but that's what you clean on new builds.

Agree, that’s why I mentioned “final cleaning” (during or after punch, when construction is at least 99 percent complete)

Investigators believe Chelsea Davidenas, 29, was killed hours after she was last seen on Feb. 17.

The case was initially investigated as a missing person file after the woman's family reported her disappearance to police.

Although her body has not been found, police believe Davidenas was lured to a home in the northeast community of Pineridge and killed inside the home.

"Sadly, based on the totality of the evidence collected, investigators believe that foul play was involved, and that Chelsea was the victim of a homicide," the Calgary Police Service said in a written release….
Steven Aaron Zwick, 26, and Paul Joseph Rushton, 52, each face a charge of first-degree murder.

The fact that she is deceased was posted here a few days ago. I suppose the delay in reporting was due to arrest warrants, etc.

"Police allege Davidenas was lured to a home in the 5600 block of Rundlehorn Drive N.E. in the early morning hours of Feb. 17 by two men she knew. "She was called to a location on a date. When she arrived there, what she was expecting was not what was anticipated, and it ultimately ended in her death," ...

Police believe her remains were removed from the Rundlehorn home on Monday, Feb. 20, and transported to a "rural, lightly treed area" southeast of Chestermere in a stolen, dark blue, low-profile, 2001 Honda Civic with white rims.Police say the Civic has since been located.

"The area where we believe her remains may be is fairly vast, it's a very large area, so we are taking the information that we have learned and we are trying to narrow that down," Rahn said.

Sounds like her body was taken 20-30 minutes SE from where she was murdered. Only one of the two suspects knows the body location.

Calgary sex workers, present and former, seem to be in the news a lot during the last few years, where it is reported that they are exploited, victimized and/ or murdered.

Law regarding sex workers seems feeble in the sense that there is no mandate to provide safety for sex workers. Even the language per the Calgary Police Service is outdated.
