'A makeshift memorial was erected in southwest Calgary to pay tribute to one of the two people found dead inside a home late last week. An unknown person placed candles, flowers and a photograph of Capt. Christina Thomson, a WestJet pilot, on the house’s stairs. The WestJet Master Executive Council of the Airline Pilots Association, the union representing WestJet pilots, issued a statement to Global News on Tuesday confirming Thomson’s death.“Words cannot begin to describe the sense of devastation, grief, and profound loss which now envelops the WestJet pilot group, with the tragic passing of Captain Christina Thomson,” Capt. Bernard Lewall said in the statement. “Not only was Capt. Thomson a first-rate aviator, but she was also known as a driven and strong leader serving as a role model for younger women in aviation. Her life will leave an indelible mark on all those fortunate to have met her.”The nature of Thomson’s death as well as the cause of death of the unidentified man have not been released but Calgary Police Service investigators say both are considered suspicious. Autopsies were scheduled to take place Tuesday.'

''Calgary police have identified the two people found dead in a southwest home “under suspicious circumstances,” one of whom was a WestJet pilot.

Their names, Christina Thomson, 45, and Thomas Howell, 48, were released following an autopsy on Tuesday that won’t conclude the cause of their deaths until further testing is completed.
“To further the investigation into the two deaths, police are identifying the deceased individuals in hopes that people will come forward with information in relation to their movements in the days leading up to their discovery,” CPS said in a statement.''

Thanks for starting this thread Dotr! What a tragedy. These deaths aren’t at all typical to what often proves to have been a result of domestic MS, so sad for family and friends of the deceased. This reporter may‘ve taken liberty with the grapevine as on the surface MS doesn’t really make sense at all.

As COD wasn’t determined through any visible injuries during the initial autopsy it appears the deaths must’ve been drug related, but that’s even more puzzling. A suicide pact, terminal illness?? Still, there’s no obvious reason why these two people aren’t living and breathing today,

“He said there were no obvious indicators of what caused the deaths at the scene, which is why police are waiting for toxicology results.

"Once that is all done, we will get an autopsy report that will help us paint a better picture of what went on."

"Given the fact that the male deceased is not a Canadian citizen, we don't have records on him, so there's nowhere for us to go in relation to what we would do (normally) – contacting friends, acquaintances – we don't know who he knows in Calgary.

Treit says friends have indicated the pair were, at least at one time, in a relationship.

"Our understanding is that they were in a relationship – what that looked like, I don't know – (and) that he had recently come from the United States to visit.

He said they aren't, at this time, looking for any suspects and are exploring murder-suicide "as a possibility" for the deaths, though nothing can be determined until further testing has been done.
