What an interesting article! I would like to see more information detailing how previous plagues were managed. It helps us understand that societies have struggled with pandemic for centuries, that everyone's rights are temporarily restricted, and then life returns to normal. It's a temporary blip not the end of the world.

For some people it's the end of the world. :/

The place needs to be shut down and the company needs to be banned in Canada. Verve Senior Living tries to downplay this serious violation of rights, and dangerous fire hazard of preventing people from leaving their rooms, by claiming it was only a "small number," as though it is less offensive if fewer people were placed at risk. From the link:

"Verve Senior Living, the company which operates the home, said in a statement on Friday that a "small number" of resident suite door handles were removed in the home's assisted living section."

I don't see any acknowledgment of people who are immuno-compromised or with underlying health conditions. I guess that will come in stage 3.
