It seems crazy (to me) that some provinces are offering the AZ vac to 60-64 year olds, while some people over 80 and over 70 with health issues are still waiting?? It also seems weird that all provinces aren't using the same protocols. jmo.

US-Canada border travel restrictions extended through April 21, 2021 (clickondetroit.com)

Restrictions at border in place for nearly a year amid COVID pandemic

DETROIT – Travel restrictions across the U.S.-Canada border will remain in place at least through April 21, 2021, officials announced Thursday.

According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the border will remain closed to non-essential travelers through the new April date to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. The restrictions in place prior to Thursday were slated to end on March 21...

U.S. plans to lend 4 million doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine to Canada, Mexico
The White House says it is working on a plan to lend 1.5 million doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to Canada and an additional 2.5 million doses to Mexico.
...
The U.S. currently has 7 million “releasable” doses of the vaccine, which has yet to receive approval from the Food and Drug Administration, she said.
...
The loan would be in lieu of a future exchange of doses from Canada and Mexico, Psaki said — either of the AstraZeneca vaccine or a different one.

Last week, Canadian provinces began administering 500,000 doses of the version of the AstraZeneca vaccine produced at the Serum Institute of India.

The federal government has purchased 20 million doses directly from AstraZeneca, but did not have a timeline for when they would arrive.

On Wednesday, the White House confirmed Canada asked the Biden administration for help in procuring vaccines, but repeated it first wants to ensure every American who wants to can get their shots.

Ontario has released its 2020 Sunshine List of public sector employees who made more than $100,000 over the past year, with the COVID-19 pandemic adding thousands working in health care and school sectors to the list of top earners in the province.

Over 205,000 names made it on this year's list, a 23 per cent increase from 2019, where roughly 167,000 of public servants made up the list.

Almost 75 per cent of the growth of the public sector salary disclosure came from hospitals and boards of public health and school board sectors.

Nurses contributed to about 60 per cent of the increase, while teachers accounted for 97 per cent of the increase in the school boards sector — a significant increase of 55 per cent in the number of school board employees on the list since last year.

Pandemic-related pay, such as overtime hours and pandemic pay, resulted in higher incomes for some employees, including the potential to surpass the $100,000 threshold, the province said.

Ontario's 3rd wave of COVID-19 could hit younger adults harder. Here's why

"They're younger," Salamon said. "And they're sicker."

...

"We're at a real risk right now of the variants of concern taking off, and that prime age group of 40 to 75 being hit really hard by this wave, particularly with the variants being more likely to cause serious illness that requires more hospitalization," said Dr. Brooks Fallis, a critical care physician in Peel region, west of Toronto."

"Two teams of medical researchers in Norway and Germany have independently found that the vaccine could trigger an autoimmune reaction causing blood to clot in the brain, which would offer an explanation for isolated incidents across Europe in recent weeks."
