TORONTO -- Ontario Premier Doug Ford said he was shocked to see so many people flocking to Toronto beaches over the weekend, warning that the province could see a surge in COVID-19 cases if they aren’t careful.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Monday said Canada is not in a rush to open its borders “too quickly,” as doing so may spark a second wave of coronavirus cases.

Coronavirus: Lifting Canada’s border closure still too risky, Trudeau says
The borders seem to be open (for some) anyway, hope they are checking for covid.rbbm.
Asylum seekers continue to cross Canada-U.S. border despite shutdown
June 24, 2020
''OTTAWA — New statistics show 21 people were apprehended by the RCMP crossing into Canada from the U.S. in May, despite the shutdown of the border.''

''Since 2017, nearly 57,000 people have crossed the border between Canada and the U.S. using unofficial entry points so they are able to file for asylum.

The vast majority arrived in Quebec, and as they’ve awaited a decision on their claims, many found work in health care.''

It’s official. The four Atlantic Canadian provinces will be “bubbling” next month.

Residents of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador can travel within the four Atlantic provinces without having to self-isolate, starting July 3.

It's official: Atlantic Canada is 'bubbling' on July 3

A Montreal bar's re-opening strategy: hand sanitizer; taking patrons' temperature before entering; mandatory (free) masks which patrons can only remove while they are seated at a table; removed the dance floor and installed booth seating separated by plexiglass.

It will be interesting to see if it is successful.
