''A police source told Global News that a member of the victim’s family went to Hoffman’s condo to meet him.

When they gained access to the condo, the family member found the victim with obvious signs of trauma, and called 911, the source said.
Police are now asking anyone who had contact with Hoffman on April 12 or April 13 to contact investigators.
Hoffman is originally from Windsor, and had been living in Toronto for about a year, the source confirmed.
The police source said Hoffman was not known to police.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.''

It is reported:

- a man was located inside his residence deceased

He has been identified as Daniel Hoffman, 31, Toronto.

Homicide investigators are appealing to anyone who may have had contact with the victim on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 or Wednesday, April 13, 2022 to contact police.

Man, 31, stabbed to death in harbourfront condo | Toronto Sun
''A 31-year-old man was found stabbed to death in a condo on the city’s waterfront and his killer remains on the loose.''

“He had suffered obvious signs of trauma,” Homicide Det.-Sgt. Steve Matthews told the Sun Thursday, adding a post-mortem examination has since determined the cause of death to be stabbing.'

Matthews said Hoffman lived alone in his condo and had recently started a new job in sales.

There was no immediate word on a possible motive for the killing and no suspect description was available.

“We’re in the process of retrieving numerous amounts of video from the building and surrounding area,” Matthews said. “But that takes time.”

"In the meantime, Matthews said investigators are trying to retrace Hoffman’s steps over the last couple of days leading up to his murder.

So he urged anyone who had contact with the victim on Tuesday or Wednesday to come forward to police.

''Toronto Police say the arrests of two women and a man for the murder of Daniel Hoffman — at a highrise near York and Harbour Sts. — were made with help from cops in Niagara Region.
Sylvain Bernier last saw Hoffman on Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. when he dropped off his friend’s wallet, which he had forgotten after they hung out together last Saturday.
“We didn’t chat much. We were both kind of in a rush,” he said of the brief meeting when Hoffman came downstairs to get his wallet.''


“It’s terrible. I’m so upset and I was in denial at first,” said Bernier, who heard about the slaying Thursday morning. “It’s very shocking.”
“We were becoming good friends because my ex-girlfriend knew him very well,” Bernier said of Hoffman, who had worked in finance for about a year and a half. “We were hanging out all together and we were getting close.”

''Hoffman, according to his friend, was about to go home to Windsor for the Easter long weekend before heading to New York for work, then travelling to Miami for a friend’s bachelor party.
“His father was coming to pick him up,” Bernier said. “Could you imagine the way he must feel?”

It is a tragic event. His poor parents are going through the worst thing ever. I just spoke to someone who was with Dan a few weeks ago. Learned more about him today because i had only ever said hi to him when with a group of people. When the motive is released you will realize how senseless this was.

He went to my grade school and high school, many of my friends are in shock as you would think. His parents are going through the worst kind of pain and I hope justice is served. I’ve heard rumors of what happened and i hope the police let the public know what transpired
