CANADA – Daniel Holden, 38, Bracebridge/Gravenhurst, ON, 12 Aug 2023

Daniel Holden, 38, of Bracebridge, Ontario, was reported missing to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) on September 12, 2023.

Police have stated that Holden is believed to have last been in the Southwood Road area of Gravenhurst, Ontario, on August 12, 2023.

He is described as:

• Approximately 5'6" (168 cm)
• Short dark hair
• Last known to be wearing a black sweater with white stripes on the sleeves and black pants

Police have also referenced a vehicle associated with him:

• Gold 2002 Mazda MPV
• Ontario licence plate: CKXC 268

Bracebridge OPP have issued multiple public appeals for information. As of the most recent updates, he remains missing and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ontario Provincial Police or Crime Stoppers.

Although originally reported as Bracebridge, LE later stated they believed Daniel Holden was in the area of Southwood Road, Town of Gravenhurst on this date.

The OPP did issue a missing person post on social media when Daniel was initially reported missing and then, Sept 30, 2023 (media release reported by local outlets), Police ask for help and included last known vehicle. Vehicle info included: gold 2002 Mazda MPV, Ontario plate reported as CKXC 268 / formatted as CKXC268 in some posts. LE specifically ask anyone in that area with video surveillance or other info to contact police.

There seems to be no official report of who last spotted Daniel Holden, Ontario Canada, the exact location, or how the person knew what location to report. The Southwood Road area of Gravenhurst is indicated on this Google map.

For anyone who may have lived on or traveled Southwood Rd at that time (seasonal residents included):

If you had dashcam, trail cam, cottage security, or doorbell cameras running on Aug 12, 2023, is it possible any archived footage or backups from that date still exist? Even partial clips might have value.

If so, preserving original files and contacting Bracebridge OPP directly would be the appropriate route.

Have police ever publicly confirmed whether there was any financial or digital activity (bank, gas, phone, etc.) after Aug 12, 2023, or has that information simply not been released?

August 2023 Historical Weather at Muskoka Airport, Ontario, Canada - Weather Spark

If I have this right, there were thunderstorms in that area off and on the 12th of August, 2023. Also there is tree canopy causing shadows. Wet pavement under tree cover may create glare and hide curves to a driver. This could be one of these water search situations, but I'd think SAR OPP would need an anchor point to begin such a search.

I had seen a post where someone requested other cases to do with a missing person ending up underwater with their vehicle. I cannot find that thread. Wondered how the water sources along the route Mr. Holden took could be checked here in Ontario, Canada? I understand there are quite a few--too many to start with.
