Circumstances of Disappearance:
In January 1992, Mortensen, 19 at the time, and a group of friends from St. Joseph’s College ventured to The Ship, a campus pub not far from their residence. Mortensen left the bar and was heading home with two other pals. They were halfway back to the dorm when the others decided to turn around and return to the pub. Mortensen kept walking and was never seen again.

Mortensen missed his class the next morning. When he didn’t show up for supper that night, a frantic friend who was at the pub with Dean the night before, convinced the prefect to unlock his friend’s door. The bed was still made. Nothing was missing or out of place.

Over the next three days, police and friends canvassed St. Joseph’s and walked the campus searching for possible clues. Two weeks after he disappeared, a librarian stumbled on his blue ball cap near the High Level Bridge: a St. Joe’s Rangers hat. He has never been seen or heard from again.

I've heard about this DM MP case before - but I only recently started looking into this. Very sad. And, this case has almost 0 clues - other than that his hat was found about a week after he went missing.

Though his friends didn't think he was extremely intoxicated that night, I wonder if he was more impaired than he appeared to be. Also, it was cold that night. It's possible that he could have been somewhat impaired, wandered off & then unfortunately succumbed to the elements. If so, however - why wasn't he eventually found?
