An Amber Alert has been issued for a missing six-year-old boy who was last seen in Hamilton, Ont.

Police in St. Catharines were contacted regarding a “possible parental abduction” around 9 a.m. on Sunday and say that after further investigation, officers became concerned for the welfare of Dashaun Mitchell, leading to the Amber Alert.

According to investigators, the boy is “believed to be with his father,” who has been identified as 44-year-old John Mitchell.

Police said the pair was last seen in Hamilton, Ont. around 8:30 a.m. but that “at this time their location is unknown."
