Noting this similar looking person who recently went missing in NS and was found 'suspiciously' deceased in the woods, fwiw, imo.

So the above then leads me to medical issues. Eli mentioned "disability" on the GoFundMe. Might both have been in contact with the same people in a medical setting of some sort? Might be a stretch.

Thank you for sharing this, I see you would be drawn to the resemblance. I read in a Bridgewater Police Service Facebook post that they had deployed drones and found McDormand quite quickly.

Just to clarify, Bridgewater is quite a distance from Digby where EW's parents live. It is at the opposite side of the peninsula: IMO there’s no indication this McDormand situation has any connection to Eli or his family. It is sad and unsettling, and once they report cause of death we will learn if foul play was involved or not.

With the snow melt in the KW region currently being March 2026, I’ve been thinking about how the changing conditions might bring new developments.

There are always a range of theories in cases like this, and a couple of us have a few, but nothing that can be posted responsibly here without verification or the risk of populating more public speculation than needs to be. ;);) We have sleuthed this from many angles and I trust LE will use the access they have to finalize connections in this case. 🙏🙏🙏 We await updates!

I found this information of tools the KW Major Crime Unit may be using for solving this case which may be interesting to some:

• BriefCam video analytics (to scan hours of footage quickly)
• Digital forensics
• ALPR (automatic licence plate recognition)
• GIS mapping and timeline reconstruction
• Integrated data analysis across multiple sources

A friend shared some photos with me they took of the Grand River in the Kitchener/Cambridge area this weekend. I immediately thought of EW. I can’t share the photos here, but wow, the water is absolutely roaring. High, fast, full of broken ice, with large waves, turbulence around the weirs (low dams), rapids, and brownish spring runoff. With the recent snow melt, above‑zero temps, and rain, the river is really swelling.

In light of this case, no one should be doing close‑up river checks in these conditions. My friend stayed well back, and even then the banks looked slippery and unpredictable. The Grand and Speed Rivers, and Nith River down by Paris, can be extremely dangerous this time of year. Anyone walking or searching near the riverbanks should use extreme caution meaning, hold off!

MOO, EW and FM are looking like siblings, if not to say twins. 😳🤔

Hard to believe it’s been 145 days since family, friends snd loved ones have seen or heard from Eli 😢

No official updates from LE.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Waterloo Regional Police Service at 519-570-9777 ext. 8191 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477

It’s been 159 days now, and even though there haven’t been updates from LE, I don’t think anyone here has forgotten Eli, his family, or stopped caring about this case. Some type of injustice occurred!

Spring thaw can bring renewed attention to the landscape, and I hope it brings clarity for investigators too.

This cases will not just disappear. Someone will crack, someone will note something important. He will be found, and LE will keep working until answers come.

I know you can't tell everything from pictures, but he looks like such a friendly, approachable guy. It's hard to fathom why anyone would want to harm him (and his dog ☹️)
Many people have said he would help anyone. His kind nature may have worked against him in a perp thinking he would be easy to manipulate! I have my theories and I feel more than one was involved for selfish reasons. I feel he did open the door to a female with an accomplice being too trusting. May God play on the perps' minds until they feel they can no longer cope without revealing the truth (I am a spiritual person, so prayers are my go-to).

It’s been a very difficult case to follow.
Tomorrow there will be community ground search for Eli.

I hope the truth comes out, that Eli is found 🙏🙏🙏

Yes very vague news reports.

Locals say the building where the fire took place was empty and used by squatters.

It’s surprisingly close to The Working Centre, one of the sites that help street-involved adults.

Theres been this one as well. The business below kept Eli poster up since they found out. May or may not be relevant. And it may have already been posted. Sorry I haven't posted a long time so my lingo needs refreshing.

Eli has been missing since October 19, 2025, and now that it’s March 30, 2026.

This is just my opinion: The snow has just melted. But that is not the trigger for LE to reup the case. I'm sure they have been doing a lot of work we will not know about until there is a court case after a sentencing.

The quiet from LE is hard, but in complex cases, 5 or more months is not necessarily unusual. EW was not just some student. He was intellectual and an award winner. He was involved in an intellectual learning community. He had something the perp wanted (IMO). There are likely a vast number of angles to investigate. Arson is one part of the case and missing persons/foul play another. We don't get to see the background work being done. We have to trust they're doing their best.

I’m choosing to trust that investigators are still working behind the scenes, and I hope the family feels supported through whatever comes next.

Thanks for sharing this fire as well. It’s shocking how many fires have occurred in the neighbourhood.
That building is across the street from one of community centres known for MSW student placements.

I truly hope the investigation is active and doesn’t turn into a cold case.

Unfortunately, it feels like it's already a cold case IMO.
