They just said on Kitchener news that the search has been cancelled due to weather. It is not safe along the river.

It isn’t confirmed as the poster is anonymous but someone posted on a FB thread saying that their child (Eli) doesn’t have any friends in Ontario; they were just there for school and so the parent does not believe they are hiding out with a friend or similar.

Anyway, the main purpose of this comment is to boost this thread.

I have not seen anything official as to when Eli moved to Kitchener. I could assume Sept. 2025 for school, but saw one Facebook comments say they moved in 2024. So far, unvarified. IMO, they may have connected with schoolmates over either time, existing friends or none. But some testify (unproven) this person was introverted and preferred to be alone. Yes, myself at that age didn't have friends in a new city either so either is believable. (opinon only)

I can only believe there must be so much going on in the 'background' with LE that we don't know. It's just too quiet otherwise. There has to be more. As a Canadian, I get it.

So many possible theories we could make, but the family and police have said not to speculate! What are the rules of speculating here? It's been a long time since I've been here.

I'm a year or so older than Eli, and I feel like for a lot of people in our age group, the majority of our friends are a combination of a) long-distance friends (mostly friends from school who moved to different parts of the country for university/jobs) and b) online friends, usually in a Discord server or similar online community for a mutual hobby/interest. I currently only have about three friends who actually live nearby enough that I can meet up with them regularly.

I may just be projecting my own experiences onto Eli, but based on what I've read, I do get the impression that our personalities are not dissimilar

I don't recall the rules about posting stuff from Facebook here. I suspect we aren't allowed to, but I just read a post someone in the HELP FIND ELI WOOD group shared from EW back in May about his uncomfortable walk to work from his apt. to Weber Street. Feeling vulnerable as he made this trip.
