I found a video of the building 25 Major Street showing all the units. It was for sale a year ago. EW's unit is shown at the 1:40 min mark of the video, and we can see he had his own laundry. It is called an 'inlaw studio suite' by the realtor.

That’s really useful to see EW had ensuite laundry. Now we know he didn’t need to go out of his unit to do the laundry that night.

Looks like there was a fireplace and mantle with books, photos and awards.

Yes, it was very helpful to see the building did not look like a house of horrors (as the psychic implied). Still is troubling and sad though. Was the perp 'let in', 'broke in', 'key holder'?

True. It was a very well maintained apartment and home. I didn’t watch the psychic video but will try to watch tomorrow.

Location wise the front of house faces the fenced lot of an industrial business with trees along the fence. That would give me the creeps at night. There’s something eerie about that lot. The house backs onto a park. Not sure if there’s a gate to the park through the backyard or if it’s completely fenced off.

I also looked up fires in Kitchener and found that there was attempted arson at a restaurant in another part of Kitchener Aug 26 at 6am
Article here. It raised some red flags because of the time of the fire.

The neighbour to the right's backyard is a mess. Imagine hiding something there! (snip from video)

Keep looking up similar cases. I've tried and not found good connections to this case.

The current Google Earth Map 2025 of 25 Major St. shows the backyard significantly changed. Like they removed the parking spaces and put some grass in? I wonder when the renovation of the backyard was done? (I would speculate renovations were done spring or summer because wasn't there snow on the ground a few weeks after EW went missing? So not the right season for a reno.)

True. I did notice and was reluctant to draw attention to that home. The trailer and junk piles didn’t show up in news clips the day of the fire so they must have done extensive clean up after the realtor video was made for selling 25 Major St home.

The neighbour to left has a very tidy backyard. Their home sold in May 2025 and they have a red shed and a door that leads to Major Park.

Their deck overlooks EW’s apartment.

Speculations
Noting places where EW may have been watched and where suspect(s) may have came and left from if travelling on foot.

Interesting
When I checked Google map satellite view the trailer next door was no longer there Sept 2024
Will need to look on computer to capture what I saw for comparison

The Waterloo Regional Police Service is investigating a disturbance that occurred in Kitchener.
On November 19, 2025, at approximately 11:40 a.m., police responded to the area of Victoria Street North and Forfar Avenue

That is most likely the Mayflower Motel (1 star rated) which is a 6 minute drive from 25 Major St

A location that should be looked into for any leads/sightings/camera footage from Oct 19

Backyard Renovation:

So, further to your above posts with photos, I concur that renovations were made to the backyard of 25 Major Street which may or may not be incidental. It could mean, landscape workers had opportunity to be on the property in 2025, or the landlord may have done the work himself. Whether it's relevant or purely incidental isn’t clear. We will note it as part of the overall timeline, without drawing conclusions.

Property Sale Attempts

Also, since we have seen the owner attempted to sell the house November 2024 and again in April 2025, there could have been several people walk through it for showings.

Neighbouring Properties

Thanks for pulling those photos together. It can be helpful to compare different time points. As for the neighbour’s RV, trailers do tend to come and go seasonally, so I’m not sure it tells us much either way, but it’s still good to note any changes around the property.

I see what you’re getting at, the main takeaway being that police might want to review the hotel’s cameras since that hotel (verified to be Victoria Motel) has had lots of police activity in the past.

From the report:
"On November 19, 2025, at approximately 11:40 a.m., police responded to the area of Victoria Street North and Forfar Avenue after receiving a report of a disturbance where several individuals confined and assaulted a female victim during a dispute.

The victim was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

A 32-year-old female and a 27-year-old female, both from Kitchener, were arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and forcible confinement."

From Google AI
"
The confinement and assault incident (and several other police-involved incidents) occurred at the
Victoria Motel.
The woman involved in the November 19, 2025, confinement and assault incident was a 36-year-old female. Her identity has not been publicly released by authorities. She suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
REGARDING CAMERA FOOTAGE
Google AI: Since Eli disappeared on October 19, as of today (December 19), exactly 61 days have passed. If the motel uses a 30-day loop, that footage is likely gone. If they use a 90-day system, it may still exist but would require a police warrant to access if the motel is not cooperating voluntarily. Police Canvas: In a "Major Crime" investigation involving foul play, police typically canvas all businesses in a wide radius for footage. It is standard procedure for investigators to have already requested such data during the initial weeks of the search.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but downtown Kitchener isn't what it used to be.

There is a notorious homeless encampment (one MSM article per word) located about a 1.3km walk away from EW's home. Lots of people with mental health and addiction in the area. Many reports of harassment, theft and violence.

Let’s hope given the history of incidents at Victoria Motel, LE looked into that already.

I Mapped out the 3 main locations home, school, work to see how likely it would be that EW would pass through that park with encampment and it looks like a 12-14 minute walk out of the way

EW home (25 Major St) approx 18 minute walk to school or work. Work and School were close to each other.

If this the large encampment or did I get the wrong link?

You have educated me. I had no idea he went to this 2nd campus. Good work. I had assumed he was at the main campus. I had never heard of the 120 Duke St W (Wilfrid Laurier's Faculty of Social Work, part of the Lyle S. Hallman Faculty), so thank you.

The Wellbeing In Education Conference & Expo October 18 & 19 I referred to in an earlier post, I believe was held at the main campus' science building. It has not been verified if EW attended.

I am unfamiliar with the specific homeless encampment @thor124 mentioned, though when I've driven through Kitchener, I have witnessed many homeless people in a lot of locations during the day.

Responding to the reference to those with housing instability, mental illness, vagrant, drug addict type personality theory IN MY OPINION ONLY.

It’s true that Kitchener now has a mix of people passing through. Yes, EW may have passed the Victoria/Weber encampment if he walked Victoria. That said, we should be careful not to assume involvement based on that alone. I feel In EW's case, the fire targeted very specific personal items — his phone, laptop, and the dog — which doesn’t really fit the pattern of a random passerby or someone acting impulsively.

There are occasional incidents in the region involving people in crisis, like the man who set his clothes on fire in Kitchener August 2025, but those tend to be spontaneous acts directed at themselves or their immediate surroundings, not targeted destruction of someone else’s belongings and pet inside a private residence.

I am sceptical it was a random individual wandering in. If it were a break-in for theft, imo, they don't burn devices, they steal them.
