I spot areas for perp to hide within that perimeter.

I also thought we should note where the fire station is and police station.

If perp knew this they would most likely avoid Lancaster street.
Judging from the map Eli's place was bookended by police & fire departments. The FD likely would have been on scene with 5 minutes. However, the damage to the property looks extensive. As if an accelerant was used. The only reason I can think of why there was so much damage is that perhaps someone tampered with the smoke detectors, and maybe the home didn't meet fire safety standards.

Hmmmm, this counsellor and what happened aligns with some of our early theories in a workmate being enraged about possibly losing their career.

Yes. I wonder why the name of a person who was arrested for voyeurism isn’t published?

It’s confusing whether LD was giving lectures at WLU in 2025.

Looks like the dangerous sex offenfer was in jail

This was a one‑room unit with a separate bathroom, and in spaces that small, fires can reach full involvement extremely fast. All I could see he had was a bed, sofa, curtains which act like wicks, books, wood furniture. There were no interior doors aside from the bathroom to contain the fire. Try not to get ahead of yourself speculating about landlords or safety issues--that’s how defamation suits happen. We don’t have those facts, and investigators will determine the cause.

Will LE ask the family to find out who may have donated the $550 mentioned on the GoFundMe page? Could it have been a gift of bribery or manipulation more than kindness?

Could EW have been seen as a vulnerable person to sway to log into the Social Work Laurier system for nefarious purposes?

And EW refused?

Wondering if EW did teaching assistant work, or otherwise participated in the undergraduate Social Work or Criminology programs, at the Brantford campus?
Could he have done this TA work or RA (research assistant) work for that campus remotely since he didn't have a car? If so, who might have been his supervisor?

He was a TA at Mount Allison University

I would imagine this is all being looked into by Major Crimes Unit to review all communication and correspondance EW had related to his courses and placements.

As of Dec 4, 2025 WLU issued a public statement including the following
"Laurier continues to work closely with Waterloo Regional Police (WRPS) during this ongoing investigation."

Article says "Dowler was an instructor at Wilfrid Laurier University's department of social work for this past school year, according to its website. A spokesperson said the university declined to comment on the investigation and Dowler is not currently teaching there." (10th par. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/hamilton/social-worker-college-allegations-1.7242865#:~:text=Social worker still on the, police officers, paramedics and firefighters.)
Those are serious allegations. Not what we'd expect of someone working and teaching social work.

Wondering . . . Might someone have drugged EW as formerly speculated, or knocked him out to be able to use his fingerprint/face to log into his digital devices?

There was quite a possible time window to do the cloud destruction of files they might have wanted to do and perhaps raced to start a fire and make a getway before sunrise.

"We recognize the significant public interest in this case. However, to protect the integrity of the investigation, we are limited in the information we can share at this time. We want to assure the public that this is a very active and ongoing investigation, and our family liaison officer is in daily contact with Eli's family to provide updates," the press release said.

"When it is appropriate and responsible to do so, additional details and updates will be released publicly."

I hope not, but wondered if Princess was used as a bargaining tool to make EW give up his digital passwords?

Snow is melting in Waterloo Region. Let the family know where to look and give them closure. 🎓You'll feel relief.

Post from Eli's Mother:

"Just for transparency and to keep a consistent record of information for new people, and to avoid answering the same questions.
Please keep talking about Eli - keep sharing and putting up posters. Every bit of support helps
❤

Here's what we know so far:
The night of his disappearance, Eli had spoken to a handful of family members. Elis position at home was accounted for until around 1130 pm, which would have been the early hours of October 19th, 2025. The plan was to stay in and was takkng care of service fur baby, whose blanket was in the dryer at the time they last talked to family.
Police have ruled that Eli did not start the fire, and foul play is suspected in their disappearance
Eli did not frequently leave home for any reason, other than letting dog out, for school, or out of pure necessity of needing to leave
No evidence of Eli was found in the unit, but the remains of Elis beloved service dog were unfortunately found in the unit
Neighbors have provided information to the WRPS' Major Crime Unit
All personal belongings (cell phone, laptop, etc.) were destroyed in the fire.
We do NOT know what investigative work WRPS has done with respect to checking cell phone/social media/phone history - this is presumably being held close to the vest
We have no further information and anything else would be speculation and we do not want that. We dont want any speculation as its not beneficial to the case.
We ask that any information go to Waterloo Regional Police Service or crime stoppers. This is the fastest and vest way to give information/tips. I am unable to respond to messages and question as there are so many and I dont have any answers unfortunately. Everything we know is posted here.
Please keep your eyes and ears open."

There is no proof of this, but I wondered whether the person who targeted Eli’s apartment and caused his disappearance could be the same individual who phoned in threats to the LGBTQ+ organization/event so that this event would look like a hate crime as a destraction.
