Laboucane disappeared from Hinton, Alberta, on February 21, 1981. He called his wife from work to inform her he was on his way home, but he never arrived. His vehicle was later located at the Edmonton International Airport. Laboucane's credit cards were used in California over the course of the following month and then ceased. There has been no further activity on the credit cards since. Laboucane's whereabouts remain unknown.

In February 1981, Emery LABOUCANE left his residence and went to work. While at work, he called his wife and stated he was on his way home. He never returned. His vehicle was later located at the Edmonton International Airport. LABOUCANE's credit cards were used in California over the course of the following month and then the usage ceased. No further activity was ever recorded on the credit cards.
