Eric Brett was 50 when he was reported missing from Nanaimo Regional General Hospital Dec. 21, 2005. He was admitted Dec. 13 for treatment of a mental health issue and at around midnight Dec. 21 was seen leaving the hospital for what was presumed to be a cigarette break.
Brett’s disappearance was reported to the media by his family, which resulted in several possible sightings. A health-care worker who knows Brett reported seeing him at about 5 p.m. Christmas Eve near Port Place shopping centre.
Since then there have been no other sightings. Brett’s bank accounts have not been accessed and there has been no contact with any friends or family
