Victim and suspect have a familial connection - meaning it's a small town, they are not related, but their families are related. They seem close in age. Did she do something, perhaps related to her mother's estate, that he didn't like? Was she the executor?

He was on the run to Mexico but had passport issues in Houston. He has something about drunk driving and other history that is vanishing from the internet (links below). I'm unclear on whether he was flagged in Houston, but it sounds like it. Does he have a prior drug conviction? I suppose there were no direct flights on the day that he decided to flee to Mexico.

"Dale Allen Toole, 47, of Torbrook, has been fined for operating a motor vehicle while his ability to operate was impaired by alcohol.

Toole changed his plea to guilty on Aug. 30 ... $1,300 and a one-year driving prohibition. Toole committed the offence in Greenwood on March 19, 2016.

Kingston Bible College & Academy is fairly close (< 1km) to Bowlby Park Drive, where Esther's car was found. The suspect could have driven her car there and walked back to where his car was parked (assuming it was at the bible college).

So did Esther have a music studio at the College/Academy where she taught piano? The Academy is set fairly far back from Bridge St off a small dirt road. The perpetrator must have purposefully gone there as it isn't a place you would just be walking by.

I believe that this is the building where Esther's studio is and where she got into a struggle with someone, presumably the alleged murderer. According to a family member's FB page there is a growing tribute of flowers, dogs and drawings at the door to the building.

The suspect had a brief appearance in court today. They are still working on determining if the court-appointed attorney can represent him or not or if there is a conflict. But Esther's family was there, standing strong. Good for them!

Her niece, Esther Uhlmant, said the family has had good communication with the Crown and knew nothing significant would be happening at the appearance. But it was important for them to be there.

“It’s important to me that (Toole) sees that she was very strongly supported and how much of an impact his (alleged) actions have had, and that we will not stop until there is justice," she said.

Uhlman said the plan is to have as many members of the family as possible in court for each of Toole’s appearances.
