Eva Mitchell
Eva MITCHELL is described as;
Eva MITCHELL was last seen at approximately 10:00 hours the morning of August 20th, 2004, walking away from her home on the Kelly Lake Metis Settlement near Pouce Coupe, British Columbia. MITCHELL did not live a high risk lifestyle.
MITCHELL was known to frequently walk in the wilderness to pick berries without telling anyone. MITCHELL family reported her missing in the evening when she did not return home. Her family told media they thought she had just gone out for a walk, as she did every day, and got lost or disoriented. The media report also said Mitchell is blind in one eye. She had lived in Kelly Lake for more than 40 years and was a hunter and trapper.
Between August 21 and August 30, 2004 a search comprised of over 500 people was conducted in the Kelly Lake area including the use of two RCMP helicopters, police dogs, swimming searchers, and ground search and rescue teams from across BC. Dawson Creek RCMP are investigating.
