Phillip Ho Sing Sit

Location: King Road and Weston Road, King Township
Date: Wednesday, August 9, 2006

Summary: On Wednesday, August 9, 2006, a resident of a rural property, located in the King Road - Weston Road area, discovered what were identified as human remains. York Regional Police conducted an extensive search of the property gathering additional pieces of evidence.

The human remains were sent to the Centre of Forensic Sciences for examination and have been positively identified as Phillip Ho Sing Sit, 17, of Toronto.

Phillip SIT was reported missing to the Toronto Police Service by family members and was last seen in the early morning hours of Saturday, September 24, 2005. He told his family he was going out with friends and had not been seen or heard from him since.

Phillip SIT was known to frequent the Kensington Market and the Eaton Centre in Toronto and the Pacific Mall at Kennedy Road and Steeles Avenue and the Metro Square at Ferrier Street and Steeles Avenue in the Town of Markham.

I am a dentist and we occasionally receive emails from our governing association with the subject "request for assistance" in conjunction with the local police; generally they want dental records and they give us the name, age and last known address of the person. Today I received an email seeking records for "three children, missing since 2006" which caught my attention, which led me into a deep dive of this case. It sounds like they may have found remains that need to be identified? Though am confused why they are going this route, wouldn't their families have been able to provide the police with the names of their dentists? They were all still living at home, their parents/relatives probably made their appointments for them. A digression, but we have patients who are 30 and their parents still make their appointments for them

Yes, they listed all three by full name and date of birth, which is why I was able to google them. I had never previously heard of this case.

Re posting LE release concerning Phillip Sit, the three teens went missing after he was found murdered. There may or may not be a connection between the cases .

Have there been any new updates on this case in the last 10 years? Seems really strange to me - god knows even if I had 10k a car and a passport I would barely make it unseen or undetected for over TEN years. I.think these kids witnessed a murder and tried to split b4 the killer got to them. And failed.

There is still some interest from a few podcasters on YT but little else. I suppose Philip Sit and the others could've been involved in a gang but I tend to believe that this was an accident that got covered up. Maybe they didn't know it was their friend's body when LE discovered it but they probably had a good idea that it was. Preparations could've already been in place for months (fake identities, passports, money, change of clothes, meeting place) for if and when and Philip was found. My bet is that they escaped to Hong Kong, where two of them had parents residing. What leans me in this direction is that there has seemingly been no one in any of their families still trying to find them. And here is a huge red flag IMO...no age progression photos/drawings have ever been done.

I would love to know more about the request and dental info. I wonder which Bodies they believe to possibly be the missing kids..

I remember a ME telling me it takes upwards to a year to get results back from a massive dna check. So maybe we will get some info soon?

The Shocking Details Podcast did an episode on the kids, and I was so glad that someone did a show, I think if more True Crime/Mystery podcasts or YT channels knew about the case they would cover it, just based on the circumstances. I’m from Scarborough, and hadn’t heard much about the case in a very long time.
MOO I’m afraid I think someone thought the kids knew the truth about what happened to Phillip, though I very much doubt they actually knew anything at all.
