‘It’s a miracle she’s still alive’: Missing Richmond senior spotted multiple times, still not found
December 12, 2019
“The problem is for the past 21 days, lots of people have seen her. They saw her and they just walk away. They know shes not normal, alright, and they walk away.”

She said even if the woman people are seeing isn’t Zhou, it is very possibly someone who desperately needs their help anyway.

Wong said Zhou’s appearance may have changed slightly, after spending three weeks alone in the cold outside.

“Her features are a little changed. Her grey or white hair apparently is so dirty and muddy that it’s turned to a darker colour, and then her pink shoes have turned into a grey or black. She has a blanket, so that confused people.”

Volunteers don’t know where Zhou might have gotten the blanket. But she has apparently developed a limp, and she is believed to be wearing only pink house slippers.

Since Ms. Zhou was first reported missing, numerous investigators, along with various specialized units, have searched for her and followed-up on numerous leads. Unfortunately, despite all of these efforts her whereabouts remain unknown.

This has been an extremely difficult time for Ms. Zhou’s family, especially for her daughter, Julie Zhang, who remains hopeful that her mother will be located.

My mom has been missing for more than one year and is still not found yet, no words for pains could describe those bone-deep pains I suffered. Every day I do introspections and pray to the God that I would rather live ten years less to exchange my mom’s safe… why I appreciate so much to RCMP is because they are the only people I trust and rely on and are the only people whom I could completely express my sadness and my anxieties to. They are also the only powerful people, who always try their best to help my family by keep searching [for] my mom during this year. I am always full of feelings of gratitude to RCMP for all the professional aids they have provided… I believe that Chinese [proverb]: God rewards and blesses the good. So, I believe my mom must be safe in somewhere. Never give up!’
