Canada - Gursimran Kaur, 19, Walmart worker found dead inside bakery oven - October 22, 2024

I meant at other places of business that may have this same model.
Had the same thought- if this oven is such that someone could easily get trapped with it on or something, others with similar models might need to be warned or safety precautions taken… moo

Did LE look at her medical records? Was she clinically depressed? Was it evident to others that she might take her own life? Yes, I know, it’s very difficult to pinpoint that.

I get the impression that the oven was working correctly. The police released it back to Walmart and no warnings went out about the machine. If it had been a glitch with that one specific oven, I’d think the family would have made a comment, imo.

I don’t think we have any mental health or medical records available at this point, to the public … one would assume that LE looked into that aspect… moo

Of all places in the store, why did the mother search the oven area? Just because there was some sort of leakage?

That doesn’t make sense to me, if that’s where the daughter worked, one might think she would have checked there first? moo

I haven't seen anything in the news about any details of her death, besides the fact that LE doesnt think theres foul play involved

So they think that it was not a planned murder.
The fact that Walmart or the producers of the overs offered no protection for such things happening stays.
How many stores use such ovens? What if a child hides there?

That’s rather incredible to me, was it a self closing, self locking door, and a self starting oven? I’m struggling to understand how it can be concluded that no foul plan, and no one else involved and not provide a logical series of events that lead to this particular outcome… maybe I’m missing something… moo
I really doubt any walk in anything, including ovens, would be both self-closing, self-locking, and ESPECIALLY a self-starting oven. That's a lawsuit waiting to happen IMO. Not to mention it would be totally irresponsible of the maker.

All JMO.

Well those would be my initial thoughts… still trying to make no one else involved, no foul play work out … moo

pretty sure they searched all over the store before someone told her about the leakage

Just thinking that if she didn’t work in the bakery, that she was found there is odd to me, and if she did, I would have thought that would have been the first place… I’m probably missing something… moo

Did her daughter sometimes sneak off to have a nap, and the oven looked like a good place to hide?

I can't imagine that the hard floor of a walk-in oven would be a place anyone would want to nap. JMO

Yes. Especially from an occupational safety point of view. What happened? How? Could other people who use this equipment be in potential danger?
According to CBC, the Nova Scotia Department of Labour is now leading the investigation: https://www.cbc.ca/amp/1.7383140

I think it’s likely they don’t want too much information out there to preserve their ability to conduct a review that is as unbiased as possible by outside commentary. It’s also entirely possible the police don’t have all those answers - their mandate was just to figure out whether criminal liability/foul play was involved, while OHSA violations and worker safety standards are the DOL’s domain.

<modsnip: Quoted post was removed> I’m struggling with the oven getting turned on with her inside and the door shut/locked AND no other people involved .., my own opinion, my own struggles

Those track for accidental death, but I’m struggling with the oven getting turned on with her inside and the door shut/locked AND no other people involved .., my own opinion, my own struggles
Was the door locked from the inside? That would be a serious safety violation for a walk-in fridge or oven.
