<<Two of her friends, Steven Warner and Susan Livingstone, loaded her into a dark green or brown Ford Bronco with the intent of driving her to her parents' home but claimed that when they stopped at the intersection of Kingston Road and Warden Avenue, Holly opened the door; jumped out and ran away. Holly was never seen again. Two days later a note was pinned to her parents' door stating "I've had enough, don't try to find me." She was reported missing two weeks later. The note is now considered an intent to mislead investigators.
Warner later admitted to using Holly's bank card in Cheektowaga, New York, USA. When asked why he left the country he claimed it was due to an "immigration issue." He is considered a person of interest in this case.
Authorities reported in 2022 that they are treating Holly's case as a homicide and have been since at least 2000. They say there is at least one person in the community with information who is refusing to cooperate with police.>>
