The Tisdale RCMP are on the search for a missing house, (yes you a heard that right a house), from Crooked Arrow.

The house, which was on a trailer for transport purposes, mysteriously disappeared on June 14, between midnight and 12:30 p.m.

Wow.
I suppose the transport company's owner or the driver who was transporting the house is the "adult male" who had a dispute with the homeowner. Surely LE are getting tips from people who saw the house being moved, right? I mean you don't see a big white house getting toted down the road every day. This is too funny, kinda. :D

...if the public sees it or knows where it is, contact the Tisdale RCMP at 306-878-3810.

A bench warrant has been issued for Matt Malley, who is accused of the theft of a house in Crooked River earlier this year.

The arrest warrant was issued on October 24, the most recent date he was scheduled to appear in Melfort Provincial Court.
The charges were laid in June after the house, which was on a trailer, went missing.

Tisdale RCMP said that the house disappeared from a rural area sometime between midnight and noon the following day, June 14.
It has not been found.

Malley, who is from Codette, just south of Nipawin, is charged with theft under $5,000, uttering threats, and assault with a weapon.

A couple of songs for this occasion:
"Houses in Motion" by Talking Heads
"Our House" by Madness

ETA: it also looks like a funky old shack...

A thought just came to me.

I got to thinking why steal and hide a house.

What if he or someone he knows has a body, probably skeletal, hidden inside the walls of the house and had a panic when it was sold and about to be moved.

The nosy websleuther in me wants to know the where and the why. :D

Theft under $5000?! Oh heck, if those guys had dropped that house on a piece of land around here, they could have sold it for $450,000!

I thought the $5000 must have been a misprint.

Amazing how high house prices have gone, houses next door to me are in the $450,00 price range, but a new one built on the other side was on the market for 1.35 million.

It sold in three weeks! And this is just a country town.
I don't know what it sold for. That part was hidden when I snooped online :)

All I can think of is who would want to steal that house? Years ago, in SLC, there was a cabin building business off the freeway. They had a fairly large cabin on display you could see. Someone stole it. And it wasn't on a trailer either.

Or -- someone had already buried a body, and had a sudden inspiration about further concealing the evidence?

Just slide that house off the trailer, on top of your quickly-dug grave. Who is gonna find it now?

Yeah, great minds think alike...someone stealing a house doesn't want to live in it or make a quick buck selling stolen property, that thief must be concealing a crime!

O, how I love our group here on Websleuths!

jmho ymmv lrr

Suspect probably thought the house was a Once in a Lifetime opportunity: "And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack..."

Yes I love our group too.

I was just reminded of awhile ago when I was walking down the street and noticed what seemed to be a person hunched over in the drivers seat of a car, not moving. I was thinking what should I do, go and check or what?

20 seconds must have gone by with me standing there on the footpath trying to see any movement through the tinted car windows. This would be my first time finding a dead person

I nearly jumped out of my skin when all of a sudden, the person "unhunched" and was upright. LOL

I did think at the time I'd been looking at too many WS cases :D

Jesus this is the most Saskatchewan thing I've ever heard. I went to school with a guy from Tisdale, he said the only thing to do as a teen was drink and hang out at the 7-11, which at the time was the largest in Canada. I guess they steal houses too now?

Well, no house turned up on my street last night. Might need a wine or two so I up my game ;)
